The jobless rate keeps rising causing many children to claim homeless status or opt out of extracurricular activities. So what if their beauty or talent could earn the family a roof over their heads or pay for their schooling?

Magical as they are, the first few weeks of parenting are no cake walk. They are wonderful and full of life changing moments but the shift from couplehood to parent life is drastic and a never-ending learning process. For many moms and dads, the addition of a new family member takes a toll on the romance, making it tough to maintain the closeness in the relationship.

Daylight Savings used to mean sleeping in an extra hour but now that I'm a parent, it just means my day gets started an hour earlier. Many moms gripe about the change while others hardly make it noticeable in their routine. When my kids woke up this morning, the clock read 7:00 instead of 8:00.

Couples may enjoy white tablecloths and candlelight before baby, but after becoming parents hearing that there's an hour-long wait at a hot eatery isn't as enticing. Getting food to go allows mom and dad the chance to eat their favorite entrees without any of the worry of entertaining their tots during the experience or public mid meal meltdowns. Once you had children did you table your reservations and turn to takeout more often?

It seems most every mother I know is guilty of placing their child in front of the television for a minute or two so they can cook a meal or make a call to the pediatrician without interruptions. Before they know it, a minute turns into an hour and soon enough, cartoons are mama's new babysitter. A new study says toddlers are watching 32 or more hours of television a week.

Everyone benefits from the fun family time, some even make it a team event. Decorating tools and and creative stencils have allowed wee ones to go wild with the gourds while some keep it simple with a knife and spoon.
