Many a chic mama has made the mistake of investing in a minimalistic rocker before her baby's born, only to realize that epic newborn breastfeeding sessions and a hard plastic shell do not mix. But don't worry: you can have both modern style and comfort in a rocker or glider! We found eight gorgeous options from companies like Dwell Studio, Serena & Lily, and Layla Grayce that look completely contemporary but are cushy enough for hours of baby snuggling. The royal baby watch is officially kicking into high gear as Kate Middleton nears her reported July due date. But if the idea of waiting two more months to be surrounded by all things royal baby seems too long, then look to London's Grosvenor House. The hotel, along with Dragons of Walton Street, has transformed one of its Premium Park View Suites into the "Suite Dreams" nursery, a quintessentially British room filled with bespoke, handcrafted, and hand-painted nursery furnishings inspired by the hotel's rich history and idyllic views of Hyde Park.
Dragons of Walton Street is no stranger to royal nurseries. The Mayfair-based shop was the decorator of choice for Prince William's, Prince Harry's, and their cousins Princess Beatrice's and Princess Eugenie's nurseries. While in London for the Cybex by Jeremy Scott launch event, I visited the quaint store and saw its beautiful designs firsthand — including the exclusive license for Beatrix Potter. They're nothing short of exquisite. For this project, Dragons commissioned five different artists to create new artwork for the suite. The total price tag for all the furniture included in the suite would be a whopping $39,640!
Staying in the suite comes at a price too, as you can imagine. Of the three available packages, the Buckingham package is the most luxurious, featuring a three-night stay starting at $9,561 and including a full baby concierge service — pickup from the airport, an evening of child care, dinner for two at the hotel's steakhouse, a complimentary cut and blow dry at Sanrizz for moms, a shave at Alfred Dunhill for dads, a private consultation with Dragons of Walton Street, a private tour of Buckingham Palace, a personal shopping trip to Harrods, and use of a Balmoral Silver Cross Pram throughout your stay.
We've long been fans of the beautiful work of NYC-based Sissy + Marley, a one-stop shop for expectant moms that handles everything from baby planning and maternity concierge services to designing exquisite nurseries and stationery.
When founder Chelsea Reale (aka "Sissy") agreed to share one of her firm's very special baby rooms with us, we were just thrilled (and you'll soon see why!). This space was designed for a baby girl named Victoria, who has three older brothers. There was no question that this time around, her mom wanted everything to be pink! Click through to check out Victoria's pretty-in-pink nursery, made modern with fun pops of neon throughout.

Finding a cool mobile that adds style to your nursery, but is also appealing to your baby can be a harder task than most new moms realize. Go with those ubiquitous big-box store mobiles and you'll get the lights, colors, and sounds that just might make your newborn fall in love with his crib — which for some new moms can feel like an impossible goal — but you're stuck looking at a plastic monstrosity in your otherwise-chic baby's room. Scour the upscale baby boutiques, and you'll find some incredible mobiles, but they can come with some equally outstanding price tags. Not to worry! We've scoured one of our favorite sources for creative decor, Etsy, and have found 20 gorgeous mobiles at a range of price points. The only problem now? Choosing just one!
Is there anything as calming as a swing through the air? We tend to think not. That's why the idea of a hanging cradle or bassinet sounds so inviting. According to moms who've used them, the cradles' natural swinging motion helps transition newborns from the womb to their nurseries more easily than a traditional crib. A baby's natural motion — those wiggles and jerks that babies can't control — power the cradles to help lull them to sleep.
After seeing this home-sewn version on LightBlueGrey a while ago, I became intrigued by the beauty and functionality of the hanging cradle. Little did I know that there are so many options available. Click through to see 10 of my favorite, and tell me if you'd ever try one!
We're suckers for beautiful calligraphy . . . and for sweet sayings . . . and for metallic paper goods. So it's no surprise that we're totally going gaga for the new baby and kids' line from Lindsay Letters. The artist is known for her work on weddings, but her foray into the children's arena is equally enchanting.
Her collection, with pieces that start at just $5 (!), includes art prints and canvases, digital downloads, baby shower invitations, stamps, and stationery, all of which feature her signature whimsical hand lettering. Sweet prints declaring "Olive You" and "I'll Eat You Up, I Love You So" would fit in perfectly in a nursery (they'd also work as baby shower decor), throwback fill-in-the-blank baby shower invitations take a retro idea into modern day, and "Sweet Baby" stationery would work as a baby shower thank-you or as a baby announcement.
