My Favorite New Workout Leggings Are Just $25 on Amazon

Full disclosure: I don't usually spurge on activewear. I've uncovered so many affordable sports bras, workout sets, and leggings that rival premium brands that I believe price doesn't always dictate quality. I've been in the market for a solid pair of black leggings perfect for school drop-off, running errands, working from home, and working out.

For exercise, I rotate between Peloton Bike rides, walks, and light strength training, so I prefer leggings that are supportive without too much compression, high-waisted, and most importantly, buttery soft. I recently found an amazing pair on Amazon that check all of my boxes and cost less than $30! Colorfulkoala's Essential Leggings ($25, originally $30) are the pair I'm reaching for the most these days, and the price is so good, I might need a second (and third) pair in a different color.

These pants feel incredible — they morph into a second skin the minute I put them on, and I'm not dying to peel them off after a workout. They're thick enough that I can stay warm during chilly morning walks and can even get away with wearing silky hipster underwear underneath (I detest working out in thongs) without worrying about panty lines. I love that the high waist reaches below my ribcage to support my stomach. It also gives me extra coverage when I wear crop tops. If I head out for a walk and don't want to bother with a belt bag, the side pockets are perfect for comfortably tucking away my smartphone without feeling weighed down.

I'm a size six, and according to Amazon's size chart, a size small would have been the size to order. I decided to size up to a medium because I didn't want them to feel too constricting, and I'm so glad that I did. I haven't noticed any sagging in the crotch or waistband, even after a few sets of mountain climbers, which says a lot. I'm 5'6" and decided to go with the 7/8 length to ensure they don't bunch at my ankles with the slightly bigger size. I also figured they'll be more comfortable than the full-length option when the weather warms up.

These leggings are perfect for anyone looking for a soft and comfortable pair of workout leggings that are supportive without offering compression.
