Kelly Clarkson is opening up about how it's been challenging to coparent her kids — River Rose, 6, and Remington, 4 — with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. While speaking with Khloé Kardashian during an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the singer shared how the process has been going since she filed for divorce in June 2020.

"You speak about coparenting, and I'm doing that right now too," said Kelly. "It's tough . . . I know with me and Brandon, it's just a difficult thing 'cause we're in different places, and it's like, we both agree on like the main things, but it's a hard thing when you're not together all the time, for me personally."

Khloé, who grew up with a blended family, said that her parents set an incredible example of what coparenting should look like. Now, she's trying to emulate their behavior while raising her 2-year-old daughter, True, with professional basketball player Tristan Thompson.

"My parents were the most perfect example, and I was really blessed and fortunate to have that as my example and to see that," she said. "And even with my stepdad and the integration of all of that and how my dad and my stepdad dealt with one another was really just such a beautiful thing to witness. They played golf once a week. And I'm sure that wasn't easy for my dad, but he did it for us."

Additionally, Khloé shared that she and Tristan really try to keep the focus on True, and Kelly agreed that the kids are the most important part of the equation. "As long as you make sure it's about the children and their best interests, then we're both on board," said Kelly.
