These 14-Year-Old Twins Are on a Mission to Make School Reading Lists More Inclusive

Ever since twins Phallon and Kyra were young, they've loved seeing people who look like them on the big screen. Watching The Princess and the Frog and seeing Tiana's hard work pay off inspired the twins to make a difference in the world. Today, the 14-year-olds are pushing to bring diverse books to kids of all ages. What started as a campaign to remove a racist book from their summer reading list turned into creating their own inclusive reading list and, eventually, a bill in the Illinois state legislature to ensure diversity in the state's literary curriculum. Tap play on the video above to see all the different ways Phallon and Kyra are working to increase representation through reading.

We've partnered with Disney to share how princesses like Tiana have inspired the next generation to spread kindness, bravery, and joy.
