Where to Watch All 4 of the The Grinch Movies Right Now

In the realm of holiday stories, nothing is quite as beloved and popular as "The Grinch." The original story by Dr. Seuss was published in 1957, and follows the story of a mean, solitary, green-haired creature named the Grinch. In the tale, the Grinch lives with his dog Max on the cold, snowy Mount Crumpit, which overlooks the town of Whoville. The town's residents take Christmas celebrations seriously, and after years of being bothered by their joyful festivities, the Grinch travels down to stop the holiday altogether by stealing the decorations, presents, and food. His plan doesn't go exactly as he wishes however, and because of this, the Grinch learns the true meaning of Christmas.

Since the publishing of Seuss's story over 60 years ago, there have been a number of film adaptations beloved across generations, whether it be the 1966 CBS special, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!," Jim Carrey's iconic portrayal in the 2000 version, or even a horror parody in which the green creature is a murderous beast during the cheerful season.

If you're looking to binge-watch some Christmas movies as the holiday quickly approaches, here's where you can stream all of "The Grinch" movies.

This original 1966 version of "The Grinch" sparked several adaptations for years to come. "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" was a CBS special that aired in 1966 and featured the iconic voice of actor Boris Karloff narrating the Dr. Seuss story. In the town of Whoville, residents go above and beyond to celebrate Christmas, which bothers the Grinch, a grumpy green creature that lives on a mountain overlooking the village. When he meets a girl named Cindy Lou Who, however, his attitude towards the holiday softens.

While the original 1966 version of "The Grinch" was loved for multiple generations after its airing, the 2000 adaptation directed by Ron Howard would arguably become more popular among audiences. Starring Jim Carrey as the Scrooge-like green monster, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" follows the plot of the original story, with some creative liberties. When a young Grinch presents his crush, Martha May Whovier, with a handmade angel for Christmas, he's embarrassed by the whole class and declares he'll hate Christmas forever. Once again, Cindy Lou Who, a young girl from Whoville, changes his perspective toward the holiday for good.

It would be nearly 20 years after the release of Ron Howard's "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" before audiences would get another adaptation of the beloved story. In "The Grinch," the town of Whoville is preparing for their Christmas celebration, but the furry, mean-hearted Grinch (Benedict Cumberbatch) wants to cancel the holiday altogether. Along with his lovable dog/side-kick Max, the Grinch plans to steal the town's decorations and presents and stop Christmas festivities indefinitely. His adventure has plenty of twists and turns, and of course, is influenced by the innocent heart of six-year-old Cindy Lou Who.
