North West Surprises Kim Kardashian With Pre-Met Gala Spa Day: "How Beautiful"

North West has inherited the Kardashian-Jenner party-planning gene. Ahead of the 2023 Met Gala, the 9-year-old surprised her mom, Kim Kardashian, with a lavish spa day complete with massage tables and multiple bouquets of white roses. "How sweet is North for surprising me tonight with this for us to relax before the Met," Kardashian captioned an Instagram Stories video of West's thoughtful gesture on April 30.

As Kardashian stepped inside the hotel room, she panned the camera over a trail of white rose petals sprinkled across the carpet. The petals led up to a gorgeous display of white roses and ivory pillar candles on the floor. The floral centerpiece extended into all corners of the room, appearing on coffee tables, end tables, and even the dining table. "Oh my gosh, 'Karl Lagerfeld Met Gala," Kardashian said, reading aloud the message spelled out by the silver balloons against the wall.

The pièce de résistance was a set of three massage tables — the third likely for West's younger sister, Chicago. "North! Massages before the big day? How beautiful," Kardashian said in the recording. While West masterminded the surprise, it's clear she had help setting it up, possibly from the hotel staff and the family's assistants. Still, at 9 years old, her event-planning skills are impressive.

Celebrities have been transparent about the extensive planning process that goes into preparing for the annual fashion event.
