Kim Kardashian and North West Are the Cutest Mother-Daughter Duo Heading to the Met Gala

Kim Kardashian and her daughter North West made the Carlyle hotel their red carpet ahead of the 2023 Met Gala. Kardashian, a Met Gala regular, exited the iconic Upper East Side hotel in NYC with her and ex-husband Kanye West's oldest child on May 1.

Kardashian wore a pearl-covered dress by Schiaparelli, while North looked on theme for "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty" despite not actually walking the carpet with her mom. While on the Metropolitan Museum of Art's steps, Kardashian confirmed that North had only accompanied her in the car to the big event.

North, 9, is often her mother's plus-one for big events and just attended the Fashion Los Angeles Awards with her last month. Kardashian has spoken publicly about her relationship with her daughter — one of four of the reality star's kids — before, and back in 2016, she told Editorialist, "I value my relationship with her so much." She added, "I want to become best friends with her to the [point that] she can ask me anything."

Heading into fashion's big night, North surprised her mom with a sweet girls' spa day at their hotel. "How sweet is North for surprising me tonight with this for us to relax before the Met," Kardashian captioned an Instagram Story video of West's thoughtful gesture on April 30.
