Jason and Travis Kelce Joke About Their Dad's "Terrifying" Chat With Taylor Swift

Even Taylor Swift laughs at dad jokes. The internet was delighted to see Swift spending the Oct. 12 Chiefs game with Ed Kelce, the father of her rumored boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Viral videos captured during the game gave a short glimpse at their interaction, with both parties looking engaged the whole time. In one particularly candid moment, Swift nodded sincerely and laughed as Ed enthusiastically struck up conversation, leading some to wonder exactly what they could've been talking about — the Kelce brothers included.

On the Oct. 18 episode of their "New Heights" podcast, Travis and Jason discussed their dad's "momentous" interaction with Swift. "He shouldn't be talking to Taylor Swift," Jason joked right away. "This is a terrifying conversation," Travis agreed. "I felt terrible for Taylor."

The NFL brothers later clarified that their playful digs all come from a place of love. "Our dad is the best f*cking dad in the world," Travis said. "He is a great converser." But like any son, Travis still seemed worried about what his dad might've said when left to his own devices. "If you see Dad talking to anybody and you can't hear what's happening, who knows where that conversation's going," Jason said, laughing.

Given their dad's slightly unpredictable energy, the brothers were quick to share some of their best guesses as to what the two might have talked about during the game. Could it be her recent "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" movie premiere? Or perhaps all the upcoming "1989 (Taylor's Version)" Easter eggs? The reality is likely pretty straightforward. "You can just see in this picture, all he's doing is just absolutely pumping her up," Travis said. In fact, Ed is reportedly becoming a bit of a Swiftie himself, although his favorite era has yet to be revealed.

"He started listening to her music a little more," Travis said. "Bless his heart," Jason responded, imagining how his father would go about listening to Swift's discography. "He's probably saying, 'I've taken all of your CDs out at the local library, and I've burned them [onto] my computer. Because that is legal, as a taxpaying citizen.'"

Swift's football game companions also include Donna Kelce, Travis and Jason's mom. The pair previously cheered together on multiple occasions, but now it's Ed's turn in the spotlight. "Thanks Dad for not making me look bad," Travis said. Or so he hopes.
