Halsey's TikTok-Viral Foundation Made My Skin Look Flawless

There's nothing more exciting than finding your perfect foundation match. We're all searching for that formula that just melts into your complexion, becoming one with your skin tone. As someone with a medium-tan or medium-deep complexion and a neutral undertone, I've found it pretty challenging to find my ideal shade match. However, not all hope is lost, especially because more brands are coming out with wider shade ranges featuring varying undertones, such as About-Face. After watching several TikToks of fellow makeup lovers raving about The Performer Skin-Focused Foundation ($22), I was eager to try it out.

With a range of cool, peach, neutral, olive, and warm undertones, many reviewers claimed to have found their ideal foundation match, so I had to see if it was worth the hype. Not only did I find my perfect color, but the wear and texture of this foundation are a dream. Keep reading to see my full review of About-Face's The Performer Skin-Focused Foundation.

When I first swatched About-Face's The Performer Foundation, I immediately noticed how light and hydrating it is. It doesn't feel heavy or look cakey, but it delivers decent coverage to make skin look more even-toned and flawless. The foundation is long-wearing, and I noticed that it actually moves with my skin without creasing around my laugh lines or undereye area. The best part about this foundation is how it dries and sets into a natural, skin-like finish for the ultimate my skin but better look.

In other foundation lines, I tend to lean more medium-deep with a neutral undertone, but for The Performer, I found that the olive undertone was a better match. The shade MD2 Olive blended into my skin tone and after drying down, it took me a second to figure out where I placed the swatch. It's one of the best foundation matches I have ever experienced. From the feel of the formula and the finish and the color match, it's just beautiful.

After prepping and priming your skin, you can swipe the formula all over your face with the curved doe-foot applicator. I like to concentrate the coverage on areas that I need it, whether it's to even out my skin tone or cover up dark spots and blemishes. I blend it using a sponge or a dense foundation brush, depending on how I'm feeling. Since it's a buildable formula, on days when I want more coverage, I can easily add another layer. Otherwise, I continue with a concealer to spot correct and dust a light layer of setting spray on top to keep it all in place. (I'll use a setting powder if I want more of a matte look.)

Although the doe-foot applicator is convenient for evenly distributing the product, getting the wand out of the bottle can be a bit of a struggle. You'll be tempted to yank it out, but if you do so, the formula gets everywhere. It's best to slowly wiggle the wand around to release it from the bottle.
