Mariah explained that they learned they had lost their previous baby during the holidays, saying, "It kind of shook us both and took us into a place that was really dark and difficult. When that happened . . . I wasn’t able to even talk to anybody about it. That was not easy."

there are plenty of celeb moms that have miscarried before successfully having children it's nothing new. Joanne Woodward did during her honeymoon in 1958 and because of the lasting emotional scars she's never spoken about it publically Sophia Loren miscarried twice before the birth of her first son Carlo Ponti jr Lana Turner had 6 miscarriages before her daughter Cheryl Crain was born and 6 after due to a blood clotting issue. it's only been in the last 20 years or so that stars have openly spoken about fertility issues and pregnancy loss
