As women, our children are with us from the moment of conception. But, does a mama's role as the parent "that carries the load" end with delivery?
Or do you think that society, even in this modern day, holds a higher standard for mothers than fathers?

It was lust at first sight when I laid eyes on this Mine Wowzer Dress ($75, originally $300) a couple months ago, but the unfriendly price tag kept me at bay. Now that it's on super sale, you better believe I'm swooping in on this bohemian beauty. If this dress isn't your thing, make sure to check out Standard Deviation's other sale items.

Josh Hartnett, Jude Law and David Tennant slipped on their ties for the Evening Standard Theatre Awards at London's Royal Opera House yesterday. Josh is becoming quite a fixture on the London scene, thanks to his role in Rain Man, and he looked dreamy alongside his fellow thespians. While David will be bringing his take on Hamlet to London next week, we've got to wait until summer to see Jude in the role.

We see the Leaping Bunny logo a lot when buying cosmetics and household cleaners, is it better or just good marketing?
The Corporate Standard of Compassion for Animals is a pledge by a company not to conduct or commission animal testing of their product/ingredients.
The Leaping Bunny logo means that the company has pledged and offers its assurance that they are in compliance with the only internationally-recognized “cruelty-free” standard and logo.

The Blind Side, which opens today, promises to be a tearjerker. The movie, which is based on the true story captured in Michael Lewis's book The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game, stars Sandra Bullock as Leigh Anne Touhy, the Christian, Southern mom who takes in Michael Oher, played by Quinton Aaron. Touhy's house is pretty standard for an upper-middle-class Southern family, but one element that caught my eye were these white dining chairs.

I've been carrying a reusable water bottle with me for years now, filling up on tap water as needed. Well, portable water just got a little cleaner with the Clear2Go water bottle ($16). It's your standard water bottle with a squeeze top made for cycling, but it comes with its very own water filter.

Marks and Spencer have landed in hot water this festive season over their ad campaign below. The TV advert stars many British celebrities including Twiggy, Stephen Fry and Myleene Klass, but it's the appearance of Ashes to Ashes actor Philip Glenister which has ruffled feathers. The Advertising Standards Authority is reportedly looking in to complaints over the ad which has been branded as "sexist".

Are the Topshop gods listening or what? I was just complaining about the British retailer's high shipping costs when I got the good news: half price shipping on all orders from now until Christmas day. Standard shipping has gone from $15 to $7.50 — score!
