Beyond the risks of sweeteners and chocolates, there are plenty of risks in that sweet looking Easter basket. First up, those hardboiled eggs may taste fine to a pet now (dyed shells and all – yuck!) but, if he decides to bury it in the backyard and dig it up later, he can get very sick from eating those rotten eggs. What other threats lurk inside?

Christmas is only 20 days away so if you haven't started shopping yet, you better get to it this weekend because according to Glamour magazine's December issue, 38 percent of women spend 10 or more hours shopping for holiday gifts! That seems a bit excessive to me, but I guess it all depends on how many people you're shopping for. So ladies, whether you're scaling down your celebration this year or going all out, do tell, who are you buying gifts for this holiday?

Mommy Dearest,
I am 30 weeks pregnant and a friend asked me what I plan to buy for the doctor and nurses that deliver my baby. I hadn't thought about getting them anything. She bought cigars for the doctor and flowers for the nurses that delivered her babies and said it's customary to give gifts.

I really love giving gifts. There’s something so gratifying when you find the perfect present and watch someone’s face bloom into a smile as she or he receives it. Still, I think the best gifts are those that can’t be wrapped and tied with a bow.

You and a friend each recently had a birthday, and although you were out of town for yours, she’s having a party to celebrate hers with a group of your mutual friends. You consider hunting for a gift before you go, but since it’s a large group party you opt not to and assume that it won't be a big deal.
Much to your dismay, when you arrive at the party the birthday girl hands you a huge present.

Is it just me or does shopping for Dad seem nearly impossible sometimes? Tools and ties just don’t cut it anymore and DVDs and CDs get tiresome year after year. Plus even if he doesn’t say so, I think Dad enjoys a meaningful and well-thought-out gift just as much as Mom does.

Mommy Dearest,
My daughter is in kindergarten and gets invited to lots of birthday parties.
Most of them have been held at a jumpy house, playground or the celebrant's home.
How much should I spend on presents?
