Aug 7 2009 - 4:30pm When I saw Funny People last week, I was quick to call it my least favorite of the three movies Judd Apatow has directed. I just didn't have quite the same feeling as I did after seeing 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up when I wanted to watch them again and again. Out of the three, I have a particularly special place in my heart for 40-Year-Old Virgin, but tell me — what's your favorite Judd Apatow movie?
I haven't seen Funny People yet, but it was tough choosing between the other two because I ADORE both, but I chose Knockep Up because it was the first one I saw, but it doesn't mean I think
less The 40 Year Old Virgin
I love the three of these films so much. They are hilarious and have heart. Although I love the 40 Year Old Virgin and Funny People, Knocked Up is hands down my favorite.
It has some of the greatest one liners I have ever heard and an incredible ensemble. Its probably one of the best films of the decade.
After having seen all three films, I'd have to say there's a definite trend towards "darker" themes. I hardly laughed while watching "Funny People" -- well, not as much as I laughed during
"40-Year-Old Virgin."
I still haven't see the second half of The Forty-Year-Old Virgin, but I still think it is my favorite. Knocked Up was a pleasant surprise, but I found almost all of the guys annoying (I
absolutely detest Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill). I just got back from seeing Funny People, and it was ok (I'm still not sure whether or not I like it)...
I don't get the humor of his movies...it's like a bunch of 10 year old boys got together to make movies with no adult supervision. But then my 14 year old daughter and I loved "the hangover"
that was just "ridiculous" funny versus "gross, did they really go there and why?" (not) funny.
definitely NOT funny people, that movie was like a sappy drama w penis jokes, 40 year old vigin ftw: it was sweet and funny, everything that funny people should have been
