Last week at the Music Unites Fall Masquerade Gala, Kerry Washington and Georgina Chapman wore pretty, poufy frocks from Georgina's coveted Marchesa line. Both dresses were white, but notice how the two styles varied in texture. Kerry's tulle embellishment and streamlined shape gave a more architectural appeal, while Georgina's feathered creation emoted flirty, flapper energy.

Aqua is one of my favorite affordable brands at Bloomingdale's. It offers of-the-moment pieces that make you stand out but not go broke. They recently constructed a fabulous look book featuring 12 outfits made out of 10 must-have Aqua pieces.

Sometimes a dress has a great print, sometimes it has a smashing shape, but it's not often you find one that has both and is affordable. This Anthropologie Early Blue Chemise ($30, originally $58) is it. The indigo and violent bud print is darling and the yellow background makes it even sweeter.

Sometimes, you don't need a lot to make a statement. That's why I like VintageBabe's modern outfit. Her streamlined khaki dress has only one focal point: the wraparound zipper.

I've always been a fan of Ginnifer Goodwin's sleek style. She manages to give simple pieces a unique twist. Case in point: her Camilla and Marc silk trench dress.

The fashion gods must be thinking of me. Just the other day, I saw this Silence & Noise Pleated Tunic ($20, originally $38) hoping it would go on sale — ta-dah! I'll wear it with flats right now, and paired with gray tights when the temperature drops.

Jennifer Garner attended The Invention of Lying premiere at the TIFF looking quite spectacular in a green tiered dress by Oscar de la Renta dress and Casadei sky-high taupe platform pumps — sizzle. The hue goes great against her brunette locks and I like how metallic silver accessories increase her sparkle. Indeed, this look is quite different from her usual playtime ensembles and I like it!

Sometimes it's hard to find truly unique frocks that aren't obscenely expensive, but this Liz Claiborne Stretch Poplin Sack Dress ($39, originally $99) is the exception. Trust me, if they had my size, I'd be all over it. What's not to love?

We all dig the caged sandals trend, but what about Alexander Wang's Cage Dress ($645)? I'm usually a fan of slices but this creation has me in a tizzy. The mummy-like banding has major style potential but it can also look unflattering on a lot of peeps — me included.

Diane Kruger absolutely shined at the Inglourious Bastards premiere in NYC last night. Her silver and black sequined Miu Miu dress is short, sassy, and scrumptious. I love the textural quality and how the waistband cinches at the waist.
