There are two camps when it comes to traveling via air with kids. Those who feel your pain and those who believe you never should have brought your tots in the first place. Comments on a recent CNN.com story about air travel showcased this as honestly as I have ever seen.

I lived for the luxe locks I sported during and immediately after my pregnancies. I paraded around like a supermodel, tossing my hair from side to side as if everyone in the world were mesmerized by my thick, shiny strands that seemed to grow by the second. I was even prepared for the postpartum hair loss many women experience once their pregnancy hormones subside.

There are a lot of things about birth that a mama-to-be doesn't realize until she enters the delivery room. An itchy epidural, relieving the bowels on the table and tearing to name a few.
When my first son was born via c-section, I succumbed to the post-delivery shakes that my friends had told me about.

Television and movies often perpetuate the image — you have Brenda and Brandon from the original 90210, Serena and Eric on Gossip Girl, and Ross and Monica on Friends.

Many breastfeeding mommas opt for reinforcement in hopes of keeping the good stuff flowing and I was no exception. I started taking the herbs Fenugreek and Blessed Thistle when I noticed my milk supply was dwindling. My child's pediatrician spoke very highly of the natural remedy, and while it did work like a charm, she forgot to mention one side effect that I would've liked to know.

The human body is an amazing work of art, especially the female form that can stretch and shrink with the birth of a child. While many moms can get back to the prebaby weight or even work their way back to abs of steel, their postpartum bodies will never be the same. A herniated belly button, stretch-marked tummies, or wide hips may be the indicators of motherhood that mommy will never be able to change.
