Slings are by no means a new invention — women have been strapping their children to their sides for ages as it provides closeness, comfort and ease. Straight out of the womb, most wee ones crave being held tight or swaddled as it reminds them of their embryonic stage. Aside from the encircled fabrics providing a place for baby, they offer a mother support to go about her business while keeping an eye on her offspring.

If you're a weekend warrior or prone to injury, you might find these explanatory slings handy.
Having lived through a couple of different shoulder injuries, which both required sling time, explaining my situation became old, and fast. Unfortunately, these supports weren't around when I was injured, nor are they available now.

I'm a big advocate of the video site Hulu, which streams movies and TV shows for free (they are commercial-supported). But there's still a huge list of shows, like The Hills, that aren't available on Hulu. The website Sling — brought to you by the masterminds of the SlingPlayer — is adding Viacom Shows (like The Hills) to its full streaming lineup.

The Puppy Sling is essentially a fancy baby carrier for a pup. It ranges in price from about $50 to $65, depending on how many embellishments you desire and can hold up to 18-pounds. I can see where the sling would come in handy before your pup has gotten his or her shots and is technically not allowed outside, but I don't know many people who would feel comfortable totting Toto around like a baby.

I'm constantly juggling North's goods when we go on outdoor adventures! I like to just carry my purse – or, better yet, use coat pockets – but there are times when I wish I had an extra hand or a more appropriate bag. The Park Sling ($60) would definitely make me into the Inspector Gadget of pet owners with special features and places for everything we need.
