I decided to get an early head start on Spring cleaning and get to work with a little housekeeping post holidays. For starters, I went through my whole closet, tackling years of unworn, forgotten clothing — prom dresses included, yikes! After cataloging the goods, I realized that there was some pretty decent loot there, regardless of whether it still fit me or not.

New York-based chandelier designer Michael McHale creates chandeliers out of unusual materials, including pipes that he's salvaged from old buildings. The effect is an intriguing mix of high- and low-end materials, which definitely makes the viewer look twice.
McHale notes, "To have a chandelier that communicates glamour and elegance, but is also, upon a second glance, constructed out of relatively ordinary materials — the same materials previously consigned to the service areas of the house which don't themselves mimic the form of traditional chandeliers but through their own geometrical logic create completely new forms — that is very compelling, I think.
