A ‘Profile In Courage’ the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) Is Not.
After the thankfully unsuccessful terrorist activities of the underwear bomber in an airplane over Detroit last Christmas Day, discussion resumed regarding the use of the full body scanner at American international airports. This is a highly sensitive machine that, when used for security purposes, displays the body in its full naked glory.
It was said, after the actions on December 25th by Mr. Mutallab, that this process would have been the only way to have detected the particular technique of terror the young Nigerian was attempting to import into America. Then along comes the perpetually zany Council of American-Islamic Relations. In its infinite wisdom, this group disclosed their intention to sue the United States of America to prevent the aforementioned body scanner from being used on Muslim men and women.

You won't look a bit out of place in one of these babies! And putting it on won't cause any disturbance, I'm sure.

My goals for 2010 are to learn how to eat properly and exercise while traveling. I have a job that takes me all around the country and internationally at least twice a month. So every time I am home for a few weeks and get into a good eating and fitness routine, I have to travel again and all those good habits just go flying away. So this year, I am trying to pack snacks and meals at home to take on the airplane with me (instead of depending on airport options) and also use Netflix streaming fitness DVDs on my computer so that I can exercise in my hotel room. Right now I am 5'1" and weight 128 pounds, so I'd like to lose about 8-10 pounds and then actually keep it off!!! I started the year at 130lbs, so i've lost 2lbs already (I know, these are the easy pounds to lose) and feel like I am off to a good start. My first trip is tomorrow, so that's when the real test starts!!! Good luck to everyone in this new year.

In responding to the attempted bombing of an airliner on Christmas Day, Sen. Dianne Feinstein voiced the feelings of many when she said that to prevent such situations, "I'd rather…overreact than underreact." This now appears to be the consensus view in Washington, but it is quite wrong.

Remember when conservatives believed in color blindness? Before 9/11, when affirmative action was a hot topic; they were positively weepy on the subject. Discrimination based on skin color is just plain wrong, they used to declare, no matter whom it benefits.

If only we'd listened to the 9/11 commission! This has been the refrain since Dec.

NEW YORK – One trip for their Jack Russell terrier in a plane's cargo hold was enough to convince Alysa Binder and Dan Wiesel that owners needed a better option to get their pets from one city to another.
On Tuesday, the first flight for the husband-and-wife team's Pet Airways, the first-ever all-pet airline, took off from Republic Airport in Farmingdale, N.Y.
All commercial airlines allow a limited number of small pets to fly in the cabin.
