So I saw "Confessions of a Shopaholic" this weekend, and I loved the wardrobe! Loved Becky's use of color... the bold elements of this outfit were kinda inspired by it :) I work in a pretty dull environment (clothing wise hehe), so I definitely stood out.

Ruffle sweater (hard to see the ruffles, I know): Express;
Purple t-shirt layered underneath: MNG by Mango;
Peplum skirt: ASOS;
Plaid Tights: Forever 21;
Patent shoes: Payless;
Earrings (not visible): H&M;
Flower cuff bracelet: Lia Sophia;
Cross necklace: Christmas gift from my boyfriend :)

Stuff I Love - Confessions of a Shopaholic (Book)

This is a review of one of my favorite books in a series considered 'Chick Lit' (Women's Literature) entitled 'COnfessions of a Shopaholic' written by British Author; Sophie Kinsella. The heroine of the story is one Rebecca (Becky, Bex) Bloomwood who works as a financial Journalist and who is also in debt. The stories of how Becky avoids dealing with her debt problems are at times hilarious, and for anyone who has tried to 'outrun' their finanical problems, they can certainly understand where she is coming from. Becky's debt is not from the needs of basic survival, instead, as the title gives away, she is a constant shopaholic who spends and spends and spends some more.

The realization of her problem, due to constant threatenthing banker phone calls, and the endless Visa statments, she decides to escape to her parents home in Surrey, England....of which details how she gets out of her financial rut........for the meantime:)

This is an excellent book that I love to read when I am having a bad day and need a laugh...or read select chapters with tea as a way to put off the school work.

Who Are the Best Movie Girlfriends of 2009?

We've already talked about the best dude buddies of '09, but this year gave us several true-blue girlfriends, too (plus a BFF mother-daughter pair). While many have seen their share of drama (Jennifer’s Body, for instance?), we still had fun watching all of their relationships. So tell me, which of these ladies are your favorites?

Movie List Challenge- BFFs

Hey everyone, this isn't an official challenge from buzz but I had an idea that i thought everyone might like. I love all kinds of movie characters but one kind always makes me smile, best friends. So i made a list of my favorite best friends and thought you might want to share your lists too! It can be any kind of friends, girfriends, girl/ guy friends, best guy friends whatever. Here are some of my favorites in no particular order-

Romy & Michelle- Best friends since high school, they live together in L.A, love crazy fashion and don't do well on their own. Romy & Michelle are great best friends.

Bill & Ted- These two are peas in a pod. They talk the same, think alike, both want to be rockstars but know that can't happen until they get Eddie Van Halen to join their band and oh yeah they travel through time together. Awesome.

Cher, Dionne & Tai-Clueless- These girls love to shop, give makeovers, hang out, none of them know how to drive and they always have fun. They make great best friends.

Wayne & Garth- Wayne's World 1 &2- Party on Wayne! Party on Garth! Got to love these best friends who have their own cable tv show, love rock and roll, and love to party together. Excellent!

Tibby, Lena, Carmen and Bridget- Sisterhood Of the Traveling Pants- These four have been BFFs since they were little and have always been there for each other, hey they even share pants!

Pete & Sydney-I Love You Man-These Rush loving buddys love to have fun together, have jam sessions in the "mancave" and would do just about anything for each other, even take on Lou Ferrigno. Now that is what I call best friends.

Suze & Rebecca- Confessions of a Shopaholic- I love how much fun these two seem to have together, how they know so much about each other and how quirky and fun they both are.

Allan, Stu, and Phil- The Hangover- These guys weren't all friends at first but after an awesome night in vegas that no one can remember they become friends while trying to figure everything out and find their other friend Doug. They make you laugh and they even have their own theme song- "Cause we're the three best friends that anyone could have!"

Mike & Sully- Mosters Inc- One is short the other tall, one has two eyes the other only has one, one is green and the other is blue. Who says opposites don't attract. Mike and Sully make great best friends, they always make me laugh.

I enjoyed reading this book because what girl doesn't want to buy everything she wants? In this book the main character, Rebecca Bloomwood, actually does (for the most part) and she teaches us all a lesson which is only buy what you can afford or you will have banks on your ass day and night because you are $10,000 in debt. Rebecca is a finacial journalist who hates her job but loves shopping, almost too much. She gets herself into sticky situations but always finds a way to learn from her mistakes and get herself out. Although it is a bit tough to follow some of the terms if you aren't from the UK (the story is based in London and various areas in England) you can catch on pretty quickly. This book is also part of a series so if you can't get enough of Rebecca in this book there are about 4 others that tell more of her story. This is a great read and i recommend it to those of you that can't get enough of Chick-lit, like me.

Life as a true shopaholic

Not meaning to sound resoundly like the Sophie Kendal book, but the day I visited the cinema to go and see 'Confessions of a shopaholic,' I truely related to the redhead onscreen. Even though she was an actress, I felt like I was nodding my head each time the described the feeling of how shopping made her react. Walking into high street stores, I suddenly feel as though I'm at home. I am content at just looking at the beautiful clothes and accessories as first. Then bam! Suddenly a beautiful dress catches my eye or dazzling fabric touches my skin. A wash of dread runs through me,
I know I shouldn't even think of buying it. After all, its christmas and the only things I should be buyng is presents for my siblings or boyfriend. It all starts like this: I glance over the item several times, clocking up items in my wardrobe and shoes and makeup that could accentuate the garment. Then comes the feeling of happiness that washed over me, How amazing would this feel to buy it. I know it will make me sooo much happier and life will feel fabulous once I'm wearing at. However then comes the guilt, the guilt about my debts, the guilt about what else I could be paying for with the money (bills).The next step is to walk away. I pace myself around the shop and often leave. I know the feeling that is about to arise. Utter sadness. Like the feeling of someone ripping your heart out and twisting it. Yes, I know it is extreme, but this is how it feels when you are a true shopaholic and fall in love with that fabric, that colour, the silhouette of that outfit that you know will hug your curves in all the right places and make men fall at your feet. The outfit that will turn heads and present you free drinks on a night out with the girls.
When the sadness goes, then is the feeling of desperation, you pace to try and get away from the outfit but know that eventually you will probvably cave in. Deep down you know. You will go back again, look at the prized posession and try and come up with excuses. The excuses are never, ever enough. I'll skip lunch this week to save money. I'll find a new job. I will save up next week and not go out. Once the excuses have swept through your mind. Then comes the feeling of happiness again. You feel smart, positive. You have done what you can in order to justify the purchase.
And now the card comes out. You rush to the counter to oay for it and thoughts run anxiously through your brain while you wait. Should I get it? Should I put it back just now?Whilst shuffling forward to the front of the queue. You sigh with relief when you get there. The counter girl smiles as you hand over your card. You smile back. As the item gets folded and slipped into the bag and into your hands you feel good. Calmer, as if you have achieved your goal. Walking out the store leaves feeling on top of thw world. Until the next gorgeous new style comes out .....

ACTRESS ISLA FISHER'S SHINE IN "DESPERADOS"

Now Isla Fisher is eyeing "Desperados" a feature comedy described as a female-oriented "Hangover." Story was written by Ellen Rapoport. The story is when a woman sends an indignant e-mail to her new beau, whose gone silent after they have sex. When she discovers he's comatose in a Mexican hospital, she races south of the border with her friends in tow to intercept the e-mail before he recovers. The project is being developed at Universal by Mark Gordon ("2012") and Jason Blum, one of the producers behind the surprise horror hit "Paranormal Activity." Isla Fisher made her breakthrough as a twisted bridesmaid in 2005's "Wedding Crashers." Fisher, the Australia-raised fiancee of "Borat" star Sacha Baron Cohen, last starred in "Confessions of a Shopaholic."
