They say kids grow up fast, but Ty, the toy company famous for making Beanie Babies, has given Malia and Sasha Obama a lil push. The manufacturer is now marketing dolls in the supposed likeness of the 7- and 10-year-old first daughters. Only instead of capturing their classy and age-appropriate essence, the young ladies were made to look like identical teenagers. What's your opinion - would you buy these for your child?

Is It Fair For Boy With Autism To Be Banned From Church?

Mothers are fiercely protective of their young so it's no surprise that Carol Race, mom to 13-year-old Adam who is severely autistic has not backed down from her stance that their local Catholic church in Minnesota is discriminating against him.

The mother of five has regularly attended Sunday mass at St. Patrick's Church with her husband and children for the past 12 years despite recently being slapped with a restraining order for her son's disruptive behavior. Since Adam is over 6 feet tall and 225 pounds, it is difficult to control him.

According to an ABC News story:

"He said that we did not discipline our son. He said that our son was physically out of control and a danger to everyone at church," Carol Race said. "I can't discipline him out of his autism, and I think that's what our priest is expecting."

Church officials said they filed the legal papers after exhausting other options, as they were worried about the safety of others. It said:

According to Walz, Adam struck a child during mass, nearly knocks elderly parishioners over when he hastily exits the church, spits and sometimes urinates in church and fights when he is being restrained. He also one time assaulted a girl by pulling her onto his lap and, during Easter mass, ran to the parking lot and got into two vehicles, starting them and revving the engine, Walz alleged.

Use your tween's texting obsession to your advantage. Parents who wish their kids independence, but need to remind them to take their meds can quit the nagging and turn to technology. When children are preoccupied with school, friends, dating and Hannah Montana, they tend to forget to take the pills and injections that regulate their asthma, diabetes and other ailments.

Of necessity, parents start turning over more health responsibilities to their children at this age. It's also an age of angst, sometimes rebellion, and when youths may most hate feeling different from their friends because of medication, special diets or other therapy.

Statistics show that a good number of tweens and teens are not adhering to treatment whether it be for social reasons or forgetfulness. So Ohio doctors are experimenting with text reminders. It said:

Participants say what time they want the reminder, and a clinic volunteer types out the messages -- words spelled out, no mimicking of kids' text lingo.

Teenager Delivers Baby and Walks to Hospital

I read a plethora of new mommy books and took birthing and baby classes, but I don't think I could have delivered my own child like one California teen did.

Embarrassed and frightened by her expectant status, Xochitl Parra, 17, kept her pregnancy a secret.

When the high school sophomore began to get ready for a typical school day, she knew something was different. In the shower feeling contractions and fearing what was to come, Xochitl sat down and pushed baby Alejandro out into the world.

She quickly wrapped him in a blanket though they were still attached by the umbilical cord and walked the new baby and the placenta to the hospital four blocks away.

According to an Associated Press article both baby boy and mother are doing well.

Kidmazing: Teen Texted Mom For Help While Being Robbed

While some parents wrestle with the decision of whether or not to give their kids mobile phones, here's one reason to cave. An Ohio teen used her cell to call for help.

Lauren Durnbaugh was home sick from school when two burglars broke into her home. The quick thinking thirteen year old curled up in the fetal position and hid under her bed covers where she texted her mom to tell her what was happening. And, thanks to technology she was unharmed.

Oh My, Miley's Sorry For Her Scandalous Photos

It seemed Hannah Montana wasn't Miley Cyrus's only alter ego when scandalous photos of the teen recently surfaced on the Internet.

The suggestive pictures captured Disney's darling laying on her boyfriend's lap and exposing her bra. They were enough to break any father's achy heart.

And, just when it looked like wholesome Miley had gone Lohan, the 15-year-old publically apologized. To see what she said, read more.

According to People, she said:

"The pictures of me on the Internet were silly, inappropriate shots. I appreciate all the support of my fans, and hope they understand that along the way I am going to make mistakes and I am not perfect. I never intended for any of this to happen and I am truly sorry if I have disappointed anyone."

In addition to the those snapshots, Miley is also concerned about the photographs taken by Annie Leibovitz for Vanity Fair, in which the supposedly clothed star appears topless.

She said:

"My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy. For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie [Leibovitz]. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed."

In response to the pictures, Miley's employer, The Disney Channel said:

Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines.

On the contrary, Beth Kseniak of Vanity Fair told The New York Times:

Miley's parents and/or minders were on the set all day. Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley.

Is this a publicity stunt or a photo shoot gone wrong?

Everyone has their idea of what will lessen a teen's risk of having a baby- from preaching abstinence to safe sex education and initiating the birds and the bees conversation earlier with children. But, the statistics are on the rise and shows like MTV's 16 and Pregnant focus more on the dilemmas kids having kids have - like not breastfeeding for fear their boobs will sag or that they are cuddling an infant in the middle of the night while their peers are trying to sneak in past curfew. Tomorrow night, Primetime: Family Secrets will air a report which follows four families dealing with teen pregnancy and its aftermath along with anecdotes like the 12-steps to correctly putting on a condom. What do you think is the answer to ending teen pregnancy in America?

Babies Having Babies in Bulgaria

Sadly teenage pregnancies have become all too common, even trendy in some spots. While movies like Juno make it seem like an American phenomenon, other parts of the world have seen babies having babies for ages. In many countries, the age of consent is as low as 13 or 14. Though it varies by state in America, the average age of consent is 16. So when we hear about an 11-year-old having a daughter, it still shocks the system. When I think of 11-year-olds, I imagine budding girls starting middle school and having their first crush. I think training bras and scrawny legs, not breastfeeding an infant. But that's exactly where one young lady finds herself.

An 11-year-old Bulgarian girl had a daughter in the middle of her wedding festivities. Yes, wedding festivities. The two wanted to tie the knot before the baby's arrival. Apparently it was love at first sight when her 19-year-old fiancé rescued her from a bullying group of lads. The two consecrated their love for each other within a week and unknown to him, she lied about her age so not to scare him off. She immediately became pregnant with his child. Now the two teens are parents to Violeta. The new mommy said, ""I'm not going to play with toys anymore - I have a new toy now."

Mamas are taking a big bite out of the Twilight pandemonium. When the vampire tales first hit book shelves, it started a cult following. Teens and young adults gobbled them up and, apparently, so have their mothers. Young girls may be sporting the "Team Jacob" shirts or carrying the "Team Edward" water bottles, but they are not to be outshone by their older fans. On The Jay Leno Show, the adorably sweet and handsome Taylor Lautner talks about the deeply passionate moms he meets while out promoting the vampire movies. It seems security may have more concerns about mums than they do with their daughters!
