This season's tunics have inspired me both on and off the beach. Great for throwing over a pair of jeans or capris when on a school run, they are also the perfect cover-up over when heading for the water.

The lil boys of Summer are ready to play in the sand and surf! Tots excited to release energy need the appropriate gear to get those tan legs running. A good pair of shorts will go a long way - riding waves, rounding bases, paddling in a boat and sprinkler jumping, but he'll also need a few more things.

Fend off the sun from your lads with visors, shades, UV gear and layers of sunscreen. Keep mini men from developing gross grown men feet before their time with a pair of flip-flops or sandals. Water bound rascals might need an extra shield from harmful rays with a protective rash guard swim shirt. And at the end of the day, make sure mama's got a big glass of water to rehydrate the whippersnapper so he can rinse and repeat the next morning.

Protect her from harmful UV rays with child-friendly sunscreen and sunglasses. Safeguard wee feet with petite sandals and safeguard foreheads with brimming hats. Active sports who delight in boogie boarding and riding the waves can stave off rashes with body tees and board shorts. Tots sporting bikinis and swimsuits should have a cover-up for lunch by the pool or building sandcastles. And don't forget a towel to keep that tush from getting too sandy on the way home.

Growing up, my sister and I wore matching swimsuits. She donned the bikini style while I wore the one piece. Innocent with her chubby legs and a single curl on the back of her head, I never thought twice about putting my daughter in a two–piece. Other moms feel it sexualizes lil ladies at too young an age.
