Oct 23 2009 - 9:00am Stylish mamas can breathe again... the wait is over!
When word broke that Stella McCartney was going to design a line of children's clothes for GapKids and BabyGap, fashion forward mums were chomping at the bit to get a peek at what would surely be a
fabulous line sheet.

yikes. those are some of the ugliest combos i've ever seen.
1Seems to be a little Chris Martin inspiration in there too!
2"The wait is over"? We've never had stylish clothes for kids before? And I agree, these are some fug clothes.
3The entire line is about mothers were looking forward to THAT line... that whole if you can't say something nice really comes into play here, anon. People need to realize that being hateful is so unneccesary..
anyway, I don't really like them myself, but i don't really like gray on kids. I like black as far as the off tones, black white gray.
4What did I say that was so awful? I think the clothes are fug. Are we really not even allowed to give our opinions on threads like this now? So it's ok for you to say you don't like them, but I can't. Got it.
5I'm think they're fug too.
6Why are we quick to say that MJ & Chris Martin inspired the looks...hello her last name is McCartney her dad's first name is Paul....those jackets were worn way before MJ and Chris Martin ever wore them...just saying.
7It always amuses me that a registered member can get away with saying something (like the first post saying the clothes are ugly) but an Anonymous poster gets smacked down for saying the same thing. Hey, if you can't say something nice, Miss Sushi, don't post. Right?
8Um no.. I was talking about her attacking the beginning line of the article for no reason. Taking a line out of context and making it sound like something it wasn't written to be, just for the sake of being nasty. Something that happens for pretty much every post here, it boggles the mind why people read a blog just to ridicule it.
Saying you don't like the clothes doesn't automatically equal being nasty, obviously. My comment was about having common decency, but my guess is you missed out on that lesson...
9The Beatles rocked military style jackets long before MJ or Chris Martin! I'm sure it's a nod to her dad if anything!
10LOVE! really creative line! not for the cookie-cutter-kid ...and cookie-cutter-parents wont get it. the line reminds me of listening to the Beatles with my dad, San Francisco, and reading my (giant) 'Road to Storyland' book. well done, Stella!
PS. is this MJ? no.
11Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band? yes!
I like the line, too. So tired of all the cupcake/cutsey animals/poodle stuff. Simple, yet sophisticated. I bought several pieces for both my son and my daughter.
