Lil Tip: Make Your Own Thank You Notes and Stationery

It seems moms always have someone to thank - from birthday present thank yous to parents who've hosted their lil ones. Instead of spending $2 to $5 every time they need to send gratitude via snail mail, buy pretty paper at the craft store (it's usually less than $0.30 a sheet for hard card stock) and use a stamp to personalize the handmade card. If the children are around and in need of an activity, let them draw pictures along the borders for a more kidoodled look. The result is a distinctively personal, budget-friendly greeting that's more elegant than taking the Hallmark route.

Baby Bump: DwellStudio Meets Tiny Prints

Two of our favorite companies are collaborating on a fabulous new project. Dwell Studio, the textile company known for their fun designs, and Tiny Prints, the creator of announcements and party invitations, have partnered to create a new line of mod stationery items that have me drooling.

The line includes birth announcements, invitations and thank-you notes featuring fanciful designs such as gardens, animals on parade and airplanes all set against contemporary backgrounds. Available through Tiny Prints, the new designs may have you wishing for an early arrival in order to put these beauties in the mail.

Lil Tip: Baby Shower Thank You Notes

Baby showers are getting more and more extravagant. As a guest, you can't just show up with a gift anymore. You are often asked to bring your favorite book, a childhood picture, or a CD for the baby. While trends continue to pop up, the one I like is simple.

The hostess provides cute stationery in tune with the shower's theme for the expectant mother. Each guest fills out an envelope with their name and address so all the mom-to-be has to do is write the thank you note, seal it with a kiss and a stamp. She'll be so grateful for the shortcut.

Paperless Post Gets Holiday Parties Started

This holiday season, go green, go cheap, and go beautiful! Instead of sending out a tree's worth of paper invitations for your holiday soiree, consider using creative and gorgeous online invitations. After spending a weekend in camp country, I got nostalgic about the old beat up camp trunk I took on my childhood trips. Camps usually send a list to parents to help them prepare their kiddos for the weeks away from home, but it helps to have a second checklist to cross-reference so mama feels good about putting her sweet babe on the bus. Print this roster out and get to folding!
