Mamas will do just about anything to get a good giggle out of their lil one. When the standard laugh inducing gestures don't earn as much as a smile, jumping up and down, tearing newspaper, and singing "Jingle Bells" in August might just do the trick. The mother in the clip above said she hopped around the kitchen like a rabbit, sending her young lad into hysterics.

Is There a Sexist Double Standard For Older Moms and Dads?

Mother Nature made it so females can only reproduce between menstruation and menopause. In many cases, science allows males to procreate at an older age. Fertility and medical advancements have made it possible for both sexes to have children later in life. While 56 percent of lilsugar readers believe it's selfish for women to get pregnant past a certain point, do you believe the same is true for men? Or is there a double standard when it comes to hopeful mothers and fathers?

Has Your Child's Weight Ever Been an Issue?

Everyone knows that babies come in all different shapes and sizes. That's why it was so odd to hear of a healthy but chubby 4-month-old who was recently denied health insurance coverage. His 99th percentile ranking for height and weight for his age made him ineligible for coverage. The industry standard is to deny a policy for any new patients above the 95th percentile, including babies.

On the flip side, a friend of mine was given a stern talking to about the need for red meat from her mother-in-law because her daughter, a perfectly happy and healthy 9-month old, fell below the 10th percentile for her age group's height and weight. It's hard for any parent to hear that their child does not meet "national standards" and even worse when they are judged or worse, denied health benefits for it.

Thankfully, the Colorado company has rectified the situation and the lil boy is now protected. Has your child's weight ever been an issue?

Photographer Sets New Standard For Newborn Portraits

Show me a new mama and I'll show you a woman with a brag book filled with precious photos of her newborn. There's no denying that parents love to show off their kids, be it via images on their phones, albums in their Facebook accounts or photo albums bursting out of their bags.

While snapshots on the ol' digital camera may work for some moms, others turn to the professionals for a portrait that can become the centerpiece of their rooms. For years, Anne Geddes' whimsical shots of babies incorporated into nature were the standard by which photographers shot their subjects, but following an appearance on The Today Show, a Nebraska shutterbug with a knack for photographing sleepy newborns in some adorable poses is creating a stir. Tracy Raver's calming photos of weeks-old babes are the result of warm studios and bellies full of milk, allowing the artist to carefully maneuver the tots into her signature poses. Raver told viewers her trick was to photograph babies before they turned one month old, because that's when they get a bit feistier and can throw off a session.

Blast From the Past: Legos Keep Generations Building

Before technological toys and character-inspired goods began taking over toy chests, Legos gave lil ones the opportunity to build exciting creations without worrying about them falling down in seconds. For more than 75 years the brainchild of a Danish carpenter, has been a staple in playrooms, where the multicolored, interlocking bricks have been used to create gargantuan structures and creatures of all kinds.

What began as an innocent alternative to the standard building block has evolved into one of the most successful toy companies in the world. After years of avoiding commercial tie-ins, Lego embarked on a Hollywood partnership with Star Wars 10 years ago. The company has since teamed up with Indiana Jones, Toy Story, and Thomas and Friends to create sets inspired by the films, and is now in the process of producing its first feature film based on the blocks.

Ed Hardy to Launch Baby Product Line This Fall

Was Christian Audigier, founder of Ed Hardy, picking Jon Gosselin's brain about baby products when they were yachting in the South of France? We don't know exactly what the two were discussing earlier this Summer, but perhaps the dad of eight was giving some input on newborn products.

The company just announced the launch of Ed Hardy Baby Products, which will include baby bottles, bibs, and pacifiers featuring the tattoo designs. The BPA-free bottles and suckers will be manufactured in Germany using a silicone treatment to meet current safety standards and are expected to hit store shelves in October.

Reproductive Rights: Is There a Double Standard?

Fertile females can mother as many offspring as they please. And, though public opinion on the issue of big families may vary, it is a woman's right to reproduce. But, when Nadya Suleman recently gave birth to octuplets in addition to the six young children she already had a home (all conceived by donor sperm), a discussion was raised about her doctor's ethics. Is it fair for women who conceive naturally and those using fertility treatments to be judged differently?

Y Is For Yucatan

Wanna getaway? Mums uninspired by the traditional browns and pinks that can be found in every baby store may find enthusiasm for a Yucatan themed nursery where crystal sands and electrifying colors reign. Artsy mothers can paint a beach mural on the wall while others let the decals do the tricking. Instead of canvases, arrange a group of straw hats on an empty space. They'll come in handy when the wee one starts to play dress up. In lieu of a standard coat rack, take an old shutter, paint it a vibrant hue and hang tiny threads between the slats like they're drying in the sun. Finish the look with a mini Adirondack chair that can serve a dual purpose in the room and the yard.

Induction of Preeclamptic Women Reduces C-Section Risk

Should women with preeclampsia set a delivery date? Expectant mothers suffering from the pregnancy condition, which is often detected by high blood pressure and protein in the urine, benefit from an early delivery according to a new study. Researchers following 756 women in the Netherlands found that inducing labor in preeclamptic women at 37 weeks gestation – either via hormones and breaking of the water sac – greatly reduced the risk of severely high blood pressure and decreased the use of cesarean sections in the delivery. Doctors are now calling for inductions of such patients to be become standard practice. A very serious condition, expectant mamas should be aware of the signs of preeclampsia.
