While I wasn't the daughter of a preacher man, my parents did make us go to church on Sundays. Like many kids, I dreaded it but started to appreciate the ritual and my Sunday school friends as I aged. Once in college, my trips to chapel became few and far between.

The kindergartens of North Carolina's Murrayville Elementary practiced a rendition of "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer" in music class to prep for a PTA holiday performance until one mother objected to what she thought were religious overtones in it. The woman felt the words "Santa" and "Christmas" in the lyrics should not be taught in public school and petitioned that the song be removed from the program. The school board ruled that it was an appropriate tune and allowed the children to perform it.

It is natural for a parent to want the best for their child. For Nepali father Pratap Man Shakya, that means sending his 3-year-old daughter away to the country's capital of Katmandu to be worshiped as the Hindu goddess Taleju. There she will be worshiped until she reaches puberty, at which point she will return to her normal life back home.

The International Academy, an Islamic school in Cincinnati, hired a Christian kindergarten teacher who had never met a Muslim person prior to her employment. Would you send your child to a religious school if his or her class was taught by someone of another faith?

According to E! News Baby Bratman, son of songstress Christina Aguilera and her hubbie, Jordan Bratman had his bris, at their Beverly Hills home yesterday.
The celeb parents kept in tune with typical Jewish tradition, as Max Liron was eight days old during the ceremony.
