Florida Couple Names Their Baby Obama!

There have been many Lincolns, Washingtons, and Kennedys; now there are bound to be more Obamas. A Florida coupled decided to make their son, who was born Tuesday, the President-elect's namesake. According to the report, Sanjae Obama Fisher arrived at 8 p.m. While it was the father's idea, unlike the case of lil Sarah McCain Palin, the daddy got the mama's approval before bestowing the moniker.

As moms, when we cast our votes we cast them not only for ourselves, but for our under-aged children. John McCain made an interesting and likely calculated decision when he tapped Sarah Palin to be his running mate. The Governor of Alaska is a parent to five children aged 4 months to 19 years old - Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper, and Trig. While Palin's juggling of career and family (including a son with special needs - her baby was diagnosed with Down syndrome) certainly is admirable, is it enough for the Republicans to win your vote?

Christina Aguilera Rocks the Vote With Max

Christina Aguilera may not be vocalizing her support for McCain or Obama, but she is endorsing Election 2008. The songstress lent her singing abilities and her son to the "Rock the Vote" campaign. The 27-year-old mama sang, "America the Beautiful" while cradling her five-month-old, Max Bratman, for the public service announcement. And, having her son on board caused the blond bombshell to be a bit more reserved. She said, "Since I'm holding my son, I'm not going to, you know, belt in his face or anything like that. But it was really, really nice to bring it down to a really intimate moment between me and my son."

Everyone's got childhood photos that come back to haunt them. But, Casey Knowles was a television extra when some footage of her sleeping was shot. Owned by Getty Images, the clip was recently used in an ad for Hillary Clinton that featured lil ones slumbering.

It's not a big deal, except the girl is now a young woman working on the Obama campaign.

With the Iowa caucus only two weeks away, it seems everyone is getting in a political frame of mind - including lil ones on both ends of the spectrum. Parents can declare their support by outfitting their babies in onesies, burp cloths and bibs that feature presidential hopefuls.

A recent article in the Boston Globe about this phenomenon called the clothing “just another example of the baby-as-accessory culture that's burgeoned in recent years.” But others believe it is part of their First Amendment rights to showcase their freedom of speech.

Whether you believe outfitting your child in such clothing helps support your candidate through the donation you make to buy the apparel, or you just want to showcase your views, the existence of such products is certainly up for debate. On the other hand, you can simply showcase your little one’s lack of presidential preference in a onesie like the one pictured here from Wry Baby ($24).

Another one bites the dust. Today Rick Perry announced that he's dropping out of the Republican presidential race, three days after Jon Huntsman withdrew. These latest campaign casualties join colorful candidate Michele Bachmann, who dropped out of the race earlier this month. So the remaining Republican presidential hopefuls include Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, Ron Paul, and Newt Gingrich. And while the candidates have been fighting their way to the White House, they've been doing a whole lotta kissing as well. What is it about politics and locking lips? From babies to dogs to old women, all the candidates except hand shakers Ron and Newt have been smooching along the campaign trail (even good ol' Marcus Bachmann got in on the action). So kiss Rick and Jon goodbye with the best - and the worst - kisses from the Republican presidential candidates.
