The Obama girls' Secret Service code names have been revealed as falling in line with the long presidential family tradition of having monikers that start with the same letter. Barack and Michelle's older daughter, Malia, 10, is Radiance and her sister, Sasha, 7, is Rosebud. It's not clear what, if any, rhyme or reason there is behind the names, but if you were moving to the White House, what would be fitting code names for your children?

Malia and Sasha Obama have already been promised a puppy by their president-elect papa, Barack, and as America's first daughters, we're sure many luxuries will be afforded to them. But every slumber party thrown at the White House comes with a price says a recent CNN article - the girls will grow up in the public eye and under the watch of their parents and the Secret Service. The piece discussed the media scrutiny and antics that long haunted past presidential kids. To see what they are known for, read more. It said:

Theodore Roosevelt's children used to like to drop water balloons on foreign dignitaries, Wead said. They also let their pet snake slither around the White House dining room.

John F. Kennedy Jr. was known for hiding under his father's Oval Office desk. His older sister, Caroline, had a pony who romped untethered around the White House grounds.

President Abraham Lincoln's youngest son, Thomas, used to startle everyone in the building by making all the White House bells ring at one time.

These tidbits make me think the walls of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue are alive with childhood history.

Should Chelsea Have Answered the Kids Questions?

Presidential candidates are all about the future, but what about their kids who are the next generation? When Scholastic News student reporters questioned the candidate's children, their inquires were welcomed by most from Cate Edwards to Tagg Romney. But former White House daughter, Chelsea Clinton was tight lipped.

A recent Associated Press article said:

"Fifth-grader Kyle Nowak of Nevada met Chelsea Clinton, the former first lady's daughter, at a campaign event for her mother in Las Vegas. While she did not answer questions, she signed a page in his notebook, "To Kyle, Support Hillary!"

And, the piece said Chelsea denied a nine-year-old's question at another campaign event. It said:

"I'm sorry, I don't talk to the press and that applies to you, unfortunately. Even though I think you're cute," she told the Scholastic News' student reporter.

Levi Spills the Beans on Sarah Palin's Parenting Style

Nine months ago, the whole world would have eagerly listened to the utterances of Levi Johnston, the then fiancé of the daughter of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. But like a good boy, he kept his mouth shut. Now almost a year later, the new father has changed his ways. After posing shirtless in GQ, he started gabbing about his child's grandmother. Whether he speaks the truth is questionable, he told Vanity Fair the following:

There wasn’t much parenting in that house. Sarah doesn’t cook, Todd doesn’t cook-the kids would do it all themselves: cook, clean, do the laundry, and get ready for school. Most of the time Bristol would help her youngest sister with her homework, and I’d barbecue chicken or steak on the grill.

He also chatted up the rumor that Mrs. Palin asked him to hide Bristol's pregnancy so she could adopt their son. A case of "he said, she said," we'll likely never know what actually. While the former governor is not currently in the political limelight, these accusations may come back to haunt her should she make a bid for the White House in the future.
