Savannah, GA-based Emily McCarthy of Emma J Design makes paper and other products beautiful for a living. When she was preparing a nursery for her baby boy, Rhett (who was born in December), McCarthy took plenty of time and effort to ensure that the room was totally one of a kind.

"We have poured our heart and soul into creating an inspirational environment for this little guy and hope he grows to love his room as much as we do. We both wanted a room that wasn't too babyish or theme-y, but was sophisticated, timeless, and full of unique touches," Emily said.

Get the Look: A City Circus Bedroom For Jenna Lyons's Son

When J.Crew's Creative Director Jenna Lyons put her Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY, town house on the market this past November, we all benefited from getting to see the incredible virtual home tour. With seven bedrooms, three and a half baths, a gorgeous patio, balcony, and wine cellar, the property (which sold for $4 million earlier this week) is truly spectacular.

But as moms, the space we were most drawn to is the bedroom belonging to Jenna's son, Beckett. The striped yellow and white ceiling has a circuslike quality to it, and a single charcoal-colored chalkboard wall adds sophistication and whimsy at once, offering Beckett a fun space to get creative. While we can't offer your child's room a limestone fireplace, we can offer Beckett-based inspiration for a fun-loving, extraspecial big-boy room.

Ruby's mom is the wonderfully talented Joy Deangdeelert Cho, the founder of the aptly named blog and creative/business consulting service Oh Joy! She designs textiles, packaging, and branding collateral for her clients, so needless to say, when it came to Ruby's nursery, attention was paid to every last detail.
