Ahh, the (not-so-joyful) joys of housetraining! Anyone who's spent the time between first day home and last day inside before final puppy shots has likely cleaned up a lot of waste. It's not a pleasant process so read about bluerose462's experience posted in the PetSugar Q and A group:

Wow, I still adore my wonderful birthday gift. I.E Pepper. However, I have never received a birthday present that pees before. She has this cute little puppy body but there has to be gallon of pee in there! Potty training seems easier with kids LOL for most kids. Pepper is training on pee pads because she is too little to go potty outside. The vet told us not to take her outside until 8 weeks. She will be 6 weeks tomorrow. Cleaning up puppy messes are not my favorite thing to do. “EEEEWWW!”

Potty training is messy business and hits and misses are part of the process for lil boys. Though 73 percent of LilSugar readers said they taught their sons to pee sitting down, their reasons varied.

Several moms instructed their lil ones to sit, but then had dad demonstrate the standing technique. Other mamas told their tykes to pop a squat (like Kate Gosselin did), to cut down on cleanup. Then, there were mothers that taught their sons to stand since they believe that it is "emasculating to make a boy pee sitting down."

These machine washable excrements can be cuddled, jumped on and played with until a tot's content. Perhaps junior's new buddies will get him to the toilet.

Yup, totally normal - I also go to the restroom a lot during the day. There is no real set number of times that you should be running to the loo, because it totally depends on your fluid intake. You drink water to replenish the water that gets lost through perspiration, excretion, and other bodily functions, and you don't necessarily need to be downing eight glasses of water each day. If it is, then you're doing a great job of keeping yourself hydrated. If it's closer to neon yellow, then add a glass or two of water to your diet. Why Didn't Anybody Tell Me: Boys Pee

Everybody pees, but baby boys pee more. Or, at least it seems that way. Maybe because they can't control the urine and it doesn't just run down their legs, but shoots across the changing table, up in the air and sprays the unsuspecting.

It doesn't matter if they catch a draft while you're changing their diaper or if they're just getting in or out of the tub - the shower begins. And, it pays no attention to the fact that you just put them in a fresh diaper, are in an incredibly long line at Costco, or having a conversation with someone that you've run into on the street and can feel your sweatshirt being to saturate.

My son has peed around his diaper so many times, it doesn't faze me anymore. I say around because I don't mean through, though that also happens on occasion. Often times, I rush to the car or a public restroom to find that his diaper is completely dry! And, no matter how carefully I pull the diaper tabs so the sides overlap, my lil houdini still manages to make it escape.

Bedtime Story: Bath Time

My little girl loves bath time, especially all the brightly colored squirt animals that come with it. She splashes, giggles, squirts, and plays the entire time.

We always do a count down before she gets out, "1, 2, 3! Bath time's over!" and scoop her out of the tub. But, last night she decided to give us a little extra show. Just as my husband finished the countdown, she stood up and peed.

As a parent you try not to encourage naughty behavior, but sometimes you're just dumbfounded, and all you can do is laugh. So we did. It took us a minute to realize she was probably cold and not so clean (anymore).
