I am currently dating my daughter's father. We had a lot of new-couple issues at first, but just as soon as I was sure we had worked through the kinks, I found out that he is going to move overseas for a year. I wanted to spend as much time as possible with him before he left, but it seems like he doesn't have the same desire.

I just finished my master's in May and I still can't find a job. I am in the education field and I live on Long Island, where jobs are hard to find. My boyfriend and I have an apartment together, and he is working a lot to keep us afloat.

A baby in the tummy often leads a woman to "nest" in her home. When I was pregnant the first time around, I painted rooms, cleaned out closets and gave away bags of clothes. This time around, I haven't so much as bought newborn diapers or purchased a layette!

Dear Sugar,
A friend and I have been talking about moving to New York together after we finish college next May. We haven't discussed anything solid, but we both think it's a good idea to live there because of the areas we're specializing in, plus, it's my absolute dream city!
My problem is that I'm currently in a relationship with a great guy, and have been for about a year and a half.

The price of gasoline has prompted many people to seek jobs closer to home, but if you'd rather start from scratch and move to a new neighborhood here's a website that you should keep handy. After you've explored a few neighborhoods, plug each prospective address into Walk Score and it will generate a map of all of the walkable amenities in the area.
The website will calculate a walk score for the neighborhood, and comparing each score will allow you to consider how much driving would be necessary in one neighborhood versus another.

Moving? Though it may be nice to support a local business by buying new boxes when you move, it's far from eco chic, and it ain't cheap either. When I've moved in the past, I've taken a day to drive around to local businesses like grocery and liquor stores to pick up used cardboard boxes.

When I moved in with my fiancé, I had some artwork and furniture that he simply refused to have moved into our house, citing them as either too colorful or girly. And on his end, there was some furniture that was too dull and bachelor pad-esque for my tastes. So, to appease each other, we had to get rid of those items.

If only my parents had gotten their hands on the Atypyk Shut-Up Tape ($13) when I was young, I might have had a shot at being a well-behaved kid. Ironically, this photo pretty much speaks for itself. You can go the "traditional" route and use it to seal some boxes when you're moving, or just use it to put your friends, family, or captives in place.
