The winningest Olympian just established The Michael Phelps Foundation with the hefty bonus his sponsor Speedo awarded him for breaking Mark Spitz's record.

It's hard to hear the amazing story of Debbie and Michael Phelps without getting teary eyed. The single mother sacrificed so much for her son and he in turn made Olympic history. It's fitting that the talented athlete headed straight to the stands to hug her after medaling because before the world rooted for him, she did.

Johnson's Baby has dubbed Debbie their "Mom of the Olympic Games" — and the company will donate money in her name to children's causes.

Funny man Jack Black recently said he's gone sentimental since becoming a dad. The comedian and father of two admitted to even crying at commercials. Ads do a number on lots of new parents, perhaps it's the adorable, chubby cheeked bald babies they have in them, or the angelic infants sleeping that make the tear ducts of moms and dads loosen.

If Michael Phelps had been pulled from the pool, would he have gone on to be the winningest Olympian? It's ridiculous to think that a child could be punished for being too good an athlete, but that's what is happening to Jericho Scott, a 9-year-old little leaguer in Connecticut who has an arm that can throw a fast one. While the pitcher tops off at 40 mph and has never beamed another child during a game, batters have a hard time hitting his pitches, and some parents were concerned when their sluggers went up to bat.

All eyes have been on Olympian golden boy Michael Phelps, but swimmer Dara Torres is in a league of her own. At 41, this mama is the oldest Olympian to ever compete in the aquatic races and this was her fifth time doing so.
After taking silver in the individual 50 meter freestyle and another silver in the 4x100 meter relay, Dara who has one child isn't thinking about how she'll celebrate, she's figuring out how to get back into mommy mode.

Sweet land of liber–tees, of thee I sing. The Olympics are about to begin, and people are getting amped up to cheer for the Americans heading to Beijing this week. As school is out and camp is coming to a close, my 7–year–old niece is finding solace in the fact that she'll have hours of gymnastics and swimming to watch on the boob tube.
