Any woman will tell you the LBD is a critical wardrobe piece for work and play. You don't have to let go of your favorite always fashionable crutch just because your belly is growing and you're not-so-lil any more — plenty of designers have pretty and chic maternity LBDs.
One of my favorites right now is the abs one shoulder dress (on sale for $150) because it has the same feel of the flowing Maxi dresses Gwen Stefani and Angelina Jolie wore while pregnant with their now infants.

What is cooler than sporting a shade of blue for Summer weddings? While it's easy to blend in by slipping on a black dress, expectant mamas should strut style and their burgeoning bellies in beautiful hues. Take a cue from the wedding theme, "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue" and select a stunning azure gown that will have fellow guests doing double takes. With dresses available in all shades from blueberry to midnight and flattering maxi, empire, wrap and tank styles – the only hardship you'll have is finding equally stunning, comfortable shoes!

Most mothers-to-be start to feel the discomfort of pregnancy during the homestretch — especially those carrying two or more babies. When being showered with gifts and adoration, the celebrated mommy should plan to wear something that makes her look and, more importantly, feel fabulous. Since comfort is the name of the game, a whimsical print maxi dress paired with elegant sandals will give the bodacious bod room to move and lounge as she sees fit.

While most women are pulling lighter clothes out of their closets in anticipation of warmer weather, mamas-to-be due in Summer and Fall are searching for the ultimate items to take them through the rest of their pregnancies. More of Me Maternity's dresses and tunics are designed to do just that. Their "Take It to The Maxi" dress ($249) mimics the maxi dress trend seen on non-pregnant pals, but is made from 100% Modal knit, ensuring it remains soft and comfortable through multiple washings.

One of the benefits of being pregnant through Spring and Summer is the plethora of comfortable, loose dresses to cover my expanding belly. No need to decide between over-the-belly or under-the-belly pant panels, dresses speed up the morning dressing routine by eliminating the need to assemble outfits.
Taking their cue from the runway trends, this season's maternity dresses embrace everything from the maxi style seen here in the Gap's smocked empire dress, to colorblock trends to perennial maternity favorites such as wraps and florals.
