Having Kate Beckinsale as a mother must be exciting. The tot couldn't be more grateful for all the love and affection mama Kate showers on precious Lily. At the same time, looking up to such a fashionista must be a tad intimidating.

However, Lily stands on her own two feet with her own rad style. On her way home from Cabo, the braided light-skinned beauty wore a frilly yellow tank top, simple black shorts, and a pair of kickin' black and white Vans. She may not be into gowns and massive sunglasses yet (whew), but she knows how to rock what she's got.

Long live the nature versus nurture debate. Beautiful Brit Kate Beckinsale recently gave her take on the situation based on experience with her daughter, Lily, 9.

The 34-year-old actress told Mean magazine:

Babies show up as themselves. I really do believe you can f--k a person up terribly by being a bad parent, but they arrive kind of 80 percent baked, and that 20 percent is crucial, but they do show up with personality.

Kate Beckinsale Sets Off Birthday Alarm For Lily

It was a red hot belated birthday party for Lily Sheen, actress Kate Beckinsale's daughter.

The beautiful mom and daughter duo took a few friends to the Santa Monica fire station to celebrate Lily's milestone. She turned nine on January 31st.

Decked out in black with their fiery plastic hats, they were dressed to impress.

Basketball season is underway, which means we're sure to see lots of celebmamas and papas taking their tots to Lakers and Knicks games galore. David Beckham treated his eldest son, Brooklyn, to courtside seats and a caramel apple. Other families spent the weekend jet-setting around the world. The Stefani Rossdale crew is jammin' in Hawaii while Britney and her entourage took a private plane to Louisiana for some down-home family time.
