Motherhood and all the dirty wash that comes with it have made me long for a house with a laundry room! But, back in my pre-baby days, tossing stuff in the washer and dryer was more of a twice-weekly occurrence. Though lots of mamas-to-be clean all of their impending baby's belongings before their first wear, I must confess I never did.

I am all for letting kids show some individuality, but wearing the same shirt every day for four years seems extreme.
According to Fox News, a Connecticut boy who loved his Brett Favre jersey wore it every day for 1,581 days. On his 12th birthday, he finally retired the shirt.

Mommy Dearest,
My family of five creates mountains of laundry. As soon as I finish getting a few loads folded, there's a pile of dirty clothes waiting to be laundered.
Any tips on how I can get ahead?

Sometimes the fresh scents and soap suds from baby detergents just don't do the job. When my baby girl had the tummy bug and threw up on her crib sheets, I resorted to an old family trick to rid her linens of the odor.

Your shower has come and gone, and your due date is quickly approaching. Instead of just sitting around and waiting for baby, make sure all of those little onesies and sheets are ready for their sweet skin. Babies can be prone to eczema, atopic dermatitis and allergies so it's important to treat their clothes with a different kind of detergent than you would normally use.

If mama's got a few minutes to herself and is looking for something that will take her mind to another world, she needs not look further than this gold and purple hardback book. The Help ($12) is a quick read that will steal her attention and her affection and leave her wanting more. Kathryn Stockett's first novel, the book about the relationships between mothers and the women that help them (nannies in particular) will have mommy laughing out loud, tearing up in the eyes, dog-earring pages with special passages and thinking about how she relates to some of the closest people in her life.

Kids produce piles upon piles of laundry. While carting the clothes to the washer is one chore, lugging the weighty jugs of detergent is another. An earth-friendly option I found is ECOS Free & Clear concentrated liquid detergent that is 100 percent non pollutant, biodegradable, nontoxic and natural.

As a mom, I have learned that one can expect the unexpected at any time. This past Saturday started out with high hopes and promises. To get our day started, I took my tots to a jumpy house birthday soiree that was blessed with clear blue skies and red velvet cupcakes.

One of the last things on a new mother's mind is dinner. Any extra time she has on her hands is typically used to pick up things off the floor, throw in a load of soiled laundry, or catch up on some lost z's. Kitchen time is usually limited to heating up bottles, pouring a glass of water or throwing together a quick sandwich.
