It will be a meeting of the motherly minds in Long Beach. California's first lady, Maria Shriver, is putting together quite the mom panel — guests include everyone from Kate Gosselin to Kelly Preston — for her California Governor's Conference for Women in October. It was announced today that actress Kelly Preston who suffered the loss of her 16-year-old son, Jett, in January would sit alongside Elizabeth Edwards on a grief and resilience panel.

While Jon and Kate Gosselin may be seeking independence from their marriage, the couple put their differences aside to throw some Fourth of July festivities for their children. Decked out in patriotic colors, but not the matching outfits the twins and sextuplets normally sport, the tensome enjoyed fireworks on their Reading, PA property. While the Gosselins may be a long way from where they were last year celebrating in North Carolina, we can't help but hope they will reconcile.

Last night TLC aired, Jon & Kate Plus 8: The First 10 Years, a retrospective about the couple and their children. While last week's Big Announcement was a tearjerker, this special was equally sad. It was not because it focused on the demise of Jon and Kate's marriage and the breakup of the family, but because it showcased their happiest times with home videos, clips of the honeymooners in Disney World and welcoming the twins and sextuplets.

Life's milestones — turning 25, 30, or 50, braving marriage, starting a family or career change — affect people differently. Some adapt and excel to their situations while others get the urge to break free.

It's one thing to see the word divorce written across a speculative headline, but it's another to hear it come from the lips of a couple who made a commitment to each other 10 years ago believing it would be forever. Jon and Kate Gosselin got married young, started a family with their twin daughters, Mady and Cara, 8 and then welcomed a super sized addition with the miraculous births of their sextuplets — Aaden, Collin, Joel, Alexis, Hannah and Leah, 5. Despite renewing their vows in Hawaii last Summer and reassuring their kiddos that they would stay together, the parents announced their split during tonight's raw episode of Jon and Kate Plus 8.

Jon and Kate have called it quits after 10 years of marriage. Made famous for their TLC specials and television series, Jon and Kate Plus 8, that documented the couple's harried life raising twins — Mady and Cara, eight, and sextuplets — Aaden, Collin, Joel, Alexis, Hannah, and Leah, five —The Gosselins filed divorce papers today. According to People, "Documents to initiate a legal split were filed in Pennsylvania Monday afternoon."

The Gosselin twins and sextuplets get homes of their own in tonight's episode of Jon and Kate Plus 8. While our favorite big brood opted for a customized pirate's cove and a garden shop, you can treat your child to an adorable abode built to their liking. The original kids crooked house sets parents back $1250, the deluxe version runs $2450 and the double deluxe is priced at $4550.

After 10 years of marriage and portions of their life being aired on television and made into tabloid headlines, our favorite TLC family is said to be making a major announcement in Monday's hourlong episode of Jon and Kate Plus 8. While there's speculation that the couple will announce a separation or impending divorce, even many of us viewers who once held out hope are at a loss as to what may happen. Jon was recently spotted checking out a pricey apartment in New York's Trump Tower.
