The designer is now helping us go organic with a handful of eco-friendly items she added to the line in time for Earth Day. The ultra soft t-shirts, hoodies, and pull-on pants come in solids as well as a cute butterfly and flower pattern. Made from organic cotton and spandex or nylon, the line once again makes a trend affordable for the masses.

We are raising the most Eco-conscience generation to date. Last weekend, Saturday Night Live made light of our earth-friendliness with a parody diaper commercial for "Chewable Pampers" that are flavorful, easily digestible and all natural. While the ad certainly took the movement to an extreme, it was a funny commentary on an issue many hold near and dear to their hearts.

EcoTot: Keeping Baby Natural

So many baby care products are on the market claiming to be organic or natural, that it sometimes feels like you need to be a scientist to figure out what is best for your child.

The Natural Products Association just announced plans for a new certification program that will identify truly natural products with the seal pictured here.

Products obtaining the seal must be made up of at least 95 percent natural ingredients (and the other five percent must be determined to not be harmful to humans), feature ingredients that come from a purposeful, renewable/plentiful source found in nature and include processes that do not dilute the purity of the ingredients.

The natural personal care industry is growing five times faster than regular personal care products, but without regulation. The Natural Products Association’s new certification program was created to ease the confusion over what is natural and what that means.

The certification program’s advisory board includes the first brands to receive the seal, including:

Burt’s Bees

California Baby

Farmaesthetics

Trilogy Fragrances

Weleda

You will start seeing the seal appear on these companies' products over the next month or so, and on additional products as they pass the certification process.

Okay. I know there's a picture of Earth next to the world "mother", which changes the meaning of the Local Celebrity "Respect Your Mother" tee to "Respect Your Mother Earth." But can't it mean both?
