In case you haven't heard, flu season is upon us. Each year, approximately one in 100 tots are hospitalized for the flu and between 75 and 150 children succumb to it. Unlike last year, the Centers for Disease Control says that this year's vaccine should be more successful than last year's serum.

Most tots don't like getting shots and many parents can't bear to watch, but it seems the process will continue as federal officials are now recommending that all children between six months and eighteen years of age get the flu shot. This will protect an additional 30 million minors. It's that time of year — the dreaded, but necessary flu shots are here. The American Lung Association kicked off their "Faces of Influenza" public awareness campaign emphasizing the importance of getting vaccinated.
