Loaded weapons and lil ones don't mix in my opinion. I hope my daughter and son never wrap their hands around a gun. Not now or ever.

As parents, we are protective of our own children as well as others. Forty-five percent of lilsugar parents, are part of the violent toy ban. While these moms and dads worry about their tots playing with plastic, rubber, or paper weapons, let alone play swords or bb guns, there are children around the world toting real, loaded firearms.

Cap guns, plastic rifles and water bazookas weren't uncommon for our generation, but now schools and parents are banning things that even resemble weapons. From toy swords to fake firearms, have you jumped on the no violent toy bandwagon?

Educators in a small Texas town will be allowed to pack pistols once school is back in session. Though just 200 people live in Harrold, a place that is almost absent of crime, the school board unanimously approved the decision for teachers to carry concealed weapons since the campus is located near a major highway. The district will not disclose which staff members have guns.

I grew up going target shooting with my dad, but times have changed and I can't imagine even putting my kids in close proximity of a firearm. One father in central Florida felt differently. The five times convicted felon was under investigation for burglary when law enforcement found pictures of his six-year-old daughter holding a pistol while searching his home.

Lots of parents search family watchdog sites to see if there are any predators in their community, but residents of a New Hampshire town were made well aware of the fact that a convicted child killer was settling on their soil. Parents in Chichester were outraged when a pastor in their community opened up his home to Raymond Guay who served 35 years in prison for multiple crimes. The New York Times report said: Mr. Guay was convicted of killing a 12-year-old boy in Hollis, N.H., in 1973, chasing him into the woods before shooting him in the eye.

A Wisconsin gun distributor paints guns shades from fuchsia to pink camouflage and even adorns them with Hello Kitty images. Customers from around the country ship their firearms to them for the decorative treatment.
On their own guns are dangerous, but adding cutesie decor to the artillery may prove them to be drop dead gorgeous — especially for kids who mistake them for playthings.

A grandmother took her granddaughter and her handgun to Sam's Club. As Donna Hutto Williamson, a South Carolina magistrate with a permit to carry the weapon, shopped at the warehouse store, the 4-year-old sat in the cart with the purse that contained the firearm. According to an Associated Press report: The child was riding in a shopping cart and playing with a cell phone, then grabbed the gun from her grandmother's purse and shot herself in the chest, Inease Williamson said.
