Lawmakers discuss a wake-up call for co-sleeping parents. Prosecutors around the country are weighing the possibility of charging parents who accidentally "roll-over" their tots while drunk or high with child-neglect. According to the Wall Street Journal, an Oregon district attorney "has drawn a fairly hard line on bed-sharing death cases: He will prosecute them when they involve alcohol or drugs."

Finding a place where baby can sleep and mamas can relax is the subject of much debate. Attachment parenting experts and nursing moms tout the conveniences and bonding experience created through co-sleeping, while many doctors and experts point out the safety risks associated with the practice.
Despite the fact that the American Academy of Pediatrics and CDC have linked co-sleeping to an increase in infant suffocation rates, 53 percent of lilsugar readers haven't changed their views on deciding to snuggle up with their tots.

When it comes to putting baby down to bed, the majority of lilsugar readers said they don't mind sharing their mattress with their mini me. Fifty-one percent of you are for co-sleeping, but a recent study by the CDC reported that infant suffocation, which is tied to bed sharing, has quadrupled in the last twenty years.

When it is time to put baby to sleep, some parents believe in the family bed and others insist their infant settle themselves into a sound slumber.
Many nursing moms find it hard to get any shut eye if they don't allow their newborn to nestle up near them, while couples concerned with a good night's rest or private time opt out.

Parenting books can be overwhelming as everyone has a different opinion on how to best raise baby. One suggests holding your baby all the time and another says that will spoil him. Some advocate co-sleeping and others says it's a big mistake.
