Should Chelsea Have Answered the Kids Questions?

Presidential candidates are all about the future, but what about their kids who are the next generation? When Scholastic News student reporters questioned the candidate's children, their inquires were welcomed by most from Cate Edwards to Tagg Romney. But former White House daughter, Chelsea Clinton was tight lipped.

A recent Associated Press article said:

"Fifth-grader Kyle Nowak of Nevada met Chelsea Clinton, the former first lady's daughter, at a campaign event for her mother in Las Vegas. While she did not answer questions, she signed a page in his notebook, "To Kyle, Support Hillary!"

And, the piece said Chelsea denied a nine-year-old's question at another campaign event. It said:

"I'm sorry, I don't talk to the press and that applies to you, unfortunately. Even though I think you're cute," she told the Scholastic News' student reporter.

Gwyneth Paltrow Is White Hot For a Night Out in London

Gwyneth Paltrow flashed a smile and waved to photographers as she arrived at a charity dinner for the Clinton Foundation's Millennium Network held at Old Vic Tunnels in London tonight. Other attendees included former president Bill Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, Princess Beatrice and her boyfriend Dave Clark, and Will.i.am. Gwyneth dressed in all white for her latest night on the town, which was in stark contrast to the all-black ensemble she wore for Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne afterparty on Sunday night. Gwyneth's sense of style seems to be rubbing off on her daughter, Apple, who debuted pink hair over the weekend. In addition to looking good, Gwyneth can also count on smelling good since she was recently named the new face of Hugo Boss's latest fragrance, Boss Nuit Pour Femme.

Chelsea Clinton Kicks Off a More Public Life on TV

Chelsea Clinton sat down with Brian Williams on his nightly Rock Center show to explain why she's leaving behind her "deliberately private life" for a journalism career. But before she got personal last night, Chelsea reported on former-educator Annette Dove, who has committed her life to helping impoverished children in Pine Bluff, Arkansas with hot food, tutoring, and someone to talk to.

After her inaugural "Making a Difference" report, Chelsea went on to discuss why she's putting herself out there for the first time. She said, "For most of my life, I did deliberately lead a private life and inadvertently led a public life." But after her grandmother, Dorothy Rodham, passed away in early November, she decided to change course. Chelsea explained that her grandmother had a core adage in life: that life is not about what happens to you, but about what you do with what happens to you. Chelsea said her grandmother had recently been "challenging me to do more with my life, to lead more of a purposefully public life. That being Chelsea Clinton had happened to me and that I had a responsibility to do something with that asset and opportunity."

Will Chelsea Clinton Follow In Her Parents' Footsteps?

After a story ran today suggesting Chelsea Clinton will soon run for Congress in New York, a Clinton spokesperson said it was 100 percent false that the former first daughter will seek office this election season. But as Chelsea works on her PhD in public policy, she might also be working toward a political future.

A typically private Chelsea Clinton, 31, dipped her toes in the political waters during her mother's presidential campaign. And as Politico reports, Chelsea enjoyed it. She's recently found opportunities to be in the spotlight again, interviewing her mother at the Clinton Global Initiative event, starting a Facebook page, and authoring a piece about her father's legacy. Chelsea's also beefing up her own political credentials, working on a PhD in public policy for NYU. Apparently she is taking an interest in policy close to her mother's heart too, including healthcare and women's issues.

Of course, Chelsea could always use her training to further causes outside of public office. And it remains to be seen if the public would welcome a Clinton political dynasty that extends to the former president's kid as they did with George W. Bush. They could also reject it, as the people of New York did with Caroline Kennedy's failed Senate bid in 2009. Would you like to see Chelsea in politics?

Chelsea Clinton Is Latest Political Daughter to Join TV News

Chelsea Clinton grew up under the media spotlight, considering her dad became president when she was just 12 years old. Since then, her parents and Chelsea herself have been fierce guardians of her privacy. But now almost 20 years after Bill Clinton became commander in chief, Chelsea is taking more steps into the public eye. Her latest move? A gig as a special correspondent for NBC News.

Maria Shriver, daughter of JFK's sister Eunice Kennedy Shriver and former ambassador and vice presidential nominee Sargent Shriver, may have blazed the path for political offspring on national news. Maria worked for NBC News for more than a decade. She's been followed by bubbly former first daughter Jenna Bush Hager, who has been a correspondent for Today since 2009, reporting on topics like non-profits for children who lost a parent on 9/11. Megan McCain also just started a job for MSBC, and as an already outspoken and opinionated young Republican she seems more willing to take on political issues.

For her part, Chelsea will likely participate in NBC's "Making a Difference" series, which focuses on volunteers improving their communities. Of the political daughters on TV now, who would you rather watch?

Time Celebrates 100 Influential People With Hillary, Kristen, Amy, Chelsea, and More

Time magazine celebrated its 100 Most Influential People last night with a huge bash held inside Jazz at Lincoln Center. Honorees like Kristen Wiig, Chelsea Handler, Claire Danes, Hillary Clinton, Tilda Swinton, and Rihanna all turned out for the mingling and partying. Stephen Colbert, who also made the list, gave opening remarks. He gave shout-outs to Kristen and Spanx creator Sara Blakely. Stephen joked, "Kristen, congratulations on the Time 100. Lovely to see you. Her movie, Bridesmaids, huge success, and proved once and for all to the Hollywood boys club that women can have explosive diarrhea, too - you are a feminist icon. Brava, madam. But perhaps the most influential person on the list is here, Sara Blakely, the inventor of the Spanx . . . No one, no one has done more to control women's bodies, except maybe [Catholic] Cardinal Dolan."

It seems the jokes and good times continued for the honorees, who happily posed for photos together. A Stella McCartney-clad Kristen Wiig made the rounds talking to her funny friends like Seth Meyers, Amy Poehler, Louis CK, and Aubrey Plaza. Rihanna hit the red carpet in a pink Marchesa gown before changing to perform on stage, while Claire Danes donned Lanvin to hang out backstage. Secretary of State Clinton may have been the most popular, though, as she shook hands and said hello to NY Knicks player Jeremy Lin, Amy, Chelsea, Harvey Weinstein, Barbara Walters, Matt Lauer, Tyra Banks, and more!
