Kids may say the darndest things, but adults aren't far behind. Given all of the stigma attached to a c-section birth, grown-ups sometimes let crazy, judgmental phrases slip from their lips at the most inopportune times.

When an expectant mama is en route to the operating room for her surgery, be careful what words of advice come out of your mouth. Here are our five things you should not say:

Don't worry, you're still a woman even if the baby didn't come out naturally.
At least your vagina won't get all stretched out.
The baby really doesn't care how it came out.
It's not too late to try for a natural birth.
You'll be up and around in no time.

The hospital trip is a bit different when you're having a scheduled delivery. With 29 percent of all American births coming via c-section, many mamas to be know they are going in for surgery. Mamas-to-be who plan on scheduling their babe's birth to coincide with a special day or one that is convenient need to think again. A new study of American births shows that babies do best when they debut no earlier than seven days before their due date. Even a few days can make a difference in the child's lung development. One report said:

The rate of Caesarean sections in the United States is at an all-time high, accounting for about 31 percent of births. There are lots of reasons: older moms, multiple births, the threat of malpractice lawsuits, the preference of mothers and doctors and the risks of having a vaginal birth after a previous Caesarean.

Other complications of infants born at 37 weeks included infections and low blood sugar.

Even Victoria Beckham May Have Her Limitations

Birthing methods are a hotly debated topic. Some women want to welcome their children into the world at home in their bathtubs while others can't wait to pick a date for a scheduled c–section. To each their own but cesareans do come with some limitations. Depending on circumstances, there are doctors that advise their patients not to have more than three children via c–section. However, some physicians say it is situational.

I know one mother who had all SIX of her children under the knife with no problems! Reports claim Victoria Beckham (pictured right while pregnant with Romeo in 2002) is ready for her fourth child though her three previous c–sections might keep her a mother to three.

Would you risk having a fourth child if your doctor had a limit of three c–sections per patient?

How Well Do You Know Induction Terms?

There's much focus on home births and cesarean sections these days so many women are unaware of labor induction until their doctors suggest it. According to a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report, in 2005 the rate of induction of labor was 22.3 percent. That is double the number of inductions conducted in 1990. Since rates have increased so quickly, let's see how well-versed you are in your induction terminology.

As the old Mother Goose rhyme goes,
Monday's child is fair of face.
Tuesday's child is full of grace.
Wednesday's child is full of woe.
Thursday's child has far to go.
Friday's child is loving and giving.
Saturday's child works hard for a living,
But the child who is born on the Sabbath Day
Is bonny and blithe and good and gay.

Half expecting a c–section delivery, I was worried about having to pick my child's due date. Would I want a child born "loving and giving" or "full of grace"? Luckily, she made the choice and came on her own. Parents scheduling a c–section or undergoing inducement have to choose a due date. How would you pick a date?
