Miss Piggy never let anything or anyone keep her from getting her beauty sleep. While it's tough to seriously take advice from a pig, we can't deny sleep its power as a natural enhancer. Unfortunately for many mamas, they don't saw as many logs as they'd like. Tricking others into believing they do rest well, mums employ a few tactics that will keep friends thinking she just spent a weekend at the spa. I try to make up for the loss with Ponds Cream around the eyes and when that doesn't work - sunglasses! Sleep masks, vitamins, water, sugarless diets and antioxidants are well known beauty tricks that many ladies use to pull off that refreshed and well rested look.

Our girl Bella may not have a baby, but that doesn't stop her from buying goodies from the kiddie aisle. She says it saves her a couple of bucks on beauty treatments, but lots of moms are guilty of borrowing an item or two from their tots. Baby wipes are great stain removers, mild detergents work wonders on hand wash adult apparel and calendula cream cures even mommy's skin issues. Vanessa Williams Gives Beauty Tips to Her Daughters

Last week our girl Bella interviewed Ugly Betty beauty, Vanessa Williams. They had a chance to chat about how the singer and actress maintains the good looks Mother Nature gave her and what beauty tips she doles out to her older daughters. When asked how she encourages a good self-image in her youngest child, the mother of four - Melanie, Jillian, Devin and Sasha - said:

The youngest one is eating right. She’s an athlete, she dances, she swims, she does basketball, softball. So my big push is eating the proper food that will fuel her body. You know, it’s a struggle because kids love gummy bears and fruit roll ups and yogurt with sugar in it - the quick snack foods. Trying to force them to eat vegetables and be conscious of eating living food like a piece of fruit as opposed to going for a bag of chips. I’m currently trying to focus her on making sure that she fuels her body with delicious, healthy food. And also staying active which she has no problem doing.

Study Finds Women Becoming More Beautiful Over Evolution

Are beautiful women at an advantage even when it comes to bearing babies? A new study by a researcher at the University of Helsinki found that women are becoming more attractive through evolution, while men remain the same.

Based on the research, it appears that women deemed to be more aesthetically pleasing have up to 16 percent more children than less-attractive women and a higher proportion of those children are female. The female offspring then tend to be better looking as well, and they repeat the pattern as they procreate. The study also showed that more attractive parents were 26 percent less likely to have sons. Perhaps, we'll see a lot more lil ladies when the Victoria's Secret Angels give birth this Fall. Less Attractive Men Are More Fertile

If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life never make a pretty woman your wife, or so the song goes, but if a woman wants children should she sleep with an unattractive man? Researchers at the University of Oxford and University College London have determined that men deemed handsome produce less sperm during sex than their not-so-hot counterparts.

According to their study, good-looking guys tend to release fewer sperm per romp in the sack to increase their chances of spreading the wealth among more women. Less-attractive men release more sperm per sexual encounter due to their assumed less frequent fertilization opportunities. Other species, like chicken and fish have been found to have similar characteristics as their human counterparts.

How a male negotiates this trade-off depends on how easy he finds it to attract females. The more attractive a male is, the more females will be willing to mate with him, reducing the value of each mating to him. This means it is optimal for him to contribute fewer sperm per mating. Although this reduces fertility per mating, it maximizes the number of offspring he sires overall.
