Our girl Bella may not have a baby, but that doesn't stop her from buying goodies from the kiddie aisle. She says it saves her a couple of bucks on beauty treatments, but lots of moms are guilty of borrowing an item or two from their tots. Baby wipes are great stain removers, mild detergents work wonders on hand wash adult apparel and calendula cream cures even mommy's skin issues.

Lots of the popular beauty lines women use on a regular basis include phthalates, sulfates and other chemicals to help preserve the rest of the products' ingredients and increase their cleansing power. Some doctors warn that these chemicals can be absorbed into the bloodstream and impact an unborn baby's hormones.

Mothers joke that they owe their gray hair and wrinkles to their offspring. Whether the topic is postpartum bodies, sheer exhaustion or limited amounts of me time, many moms attribute the decline of their looks to putting their children first. Who hasn't overheard or been involved in a conversation where someone commented that a woman looked amazing or was aging well and another chimed in with, "Well, she doesn't have kids!"

Girls will be girls. Whether you feel fine letting your daughter indulge in a mani-pedi from time to time or would rather her keep her young skin fresh and product-free, at some point you may have to just give in. Maybe it's Miley, maybe she's watched you apply mascara and lipstick before a dinner date, or maybe girly girls just love gloss.
