Take a step back in time, while easing your kids into bed! BunnyEars.tv is a collection of animated video shorts from around the world that transport viewers back to the classic age of cartoons. Created by a mom who grew up in Hungary, where cartoons were only shown before bedtime to help lull tots to sleep, the site features traditional European tales that often offer lessons without ever uttering a word. Each Wednesday new videos are uploaded, which then play for a week before being replaced. And unlike YouTube, you don't have to fish around for an appropriate video - they're all child-safe (geared toward the 3 and older crowd) and ready to roll.

There comes a day when a marker makes its way onto the walls, the floor, your outfit or all three! When it happens, it's never a pretty scene. Rather than suffer in silence, mamas can turn to "Stuff" My Kids Ruined a visual blog filled with photos of furniture, meals and clothing that kids have intentionally or accidentally destroyed. What's sweeter than graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows combined? Smories, a website that streams free stories for children read out loud by other children.

The site was created by a family after a long road trip from the Kalahari Desert in Botswana to Cape Town in South Africa when their two daughters entertained one another for hours telling stories. The family combined their love of tales and the Internet to develop a place where writers can showcase unpublished stories (testing their work with the target audience) and children can be occupied by peers in a fun and safe online world - via iPhone on the go, or mom and dad's computer at home. The site is easy to use (just click on a video and watch!) so your tech-savvy youngster can use it with little guidance. Your heart will melt when you listen to young readers read out loud.

Something tells me Capucine, the French vimeo star who tells magical stories and Speakaboos, a classic online storytelling site, have some new competition!

The benefits of reading with children are beyond debate. It helps teach them letter and word recognition, engages them in conversation, and introduces them to new concepts. Transferring those benefits to the online world is not easy, but Speakaboos tries to do just that. The site offers online storytelling of classic fables and fairy tales - as well as stories involving newer popular characters - by big name celebrities such as Kevin Bacon, Clay Aiken, Kelly Ripa, and John Krasinski. As the stories are told, and the words appear on the screen, the books come to life with beautiful animation.

There are worksheets, games, and e-cards accompanying the various tales and eventually, visitors will have the ability to create their own stories online, including doing their own voice-overs.
