Sugardaddy: Dave Grohl Rocks My World

Rock stars often have inexplicable sex appeal. Maybe it's they way they jam on the guitar or toss their tousled hair from side to side, but for me Dave Grohl's appeal is directly linked to the father factor - how adorable he is with his 21–month–old daughter, Violet Maye.

Quite the family man, he and wife Jordyn Blum, are often seen hanging out at the park and farmer's market with their wee one.

The rocker, who just turned 39 this week, doesn't show his age a bit. This is surprising since the hard worker has been a musician and songwriter for more than half of his life.

Grohl got his start with the band, Scream before he hammered away on the drums for the grunge groundbreaking, Nirvana. After Kurt Cobain's death, Grohl formed the Foo Fighters and soaked up the spotlight as lead singer and guitarist. He also collaborated with musical stars from various genres, including actor Jack Black and his band, Tenacious D.

Aside from taking darling Violet out for jaunts around town, this sweet daddy also finds time to help strangers in need. According to the BBC, in 2006 Grohl made good on a promise he made to two miners in Australia. After hearing that the trapped miners who had been involved in an accident wanted an MP3 player loaded with Foo Fighters music to keep them company, Grohl sent an email that said,

"Though I'm halfway around the world right now, my heart is with you both, and I want you to know that when you come home, there's two tickets to any Foos show, anywhere, and two cold beers waiting for yous. Deal? Looking forward to sharing them with you . . . Come home safe, and we'll see you soon. Dave Grohl.""

The miners survived and took Grohl up on his offer. Sounds Iike he gives the best, the best, the best, the best of himself.

Would You Consider Vaginal Reconstruction?

It is a well known fact that many women tear during vaginal deliveries. While stitching and kegels may help in the reparations, some mothers opt to have their lady parts surgically reconstructed.

A mother of two, Violet Estrada, told surgeon David Matlock that she wanted to feel like a 14-year-old again. Fulfilling her desires, he performed a procedure that tightened her genitals. A fan of the results, she praised her doctor for recapturing her youth and effectively improving her sex life.

Post–Traumatic Stress Disorder For New Mommies

Postpartum depression is a fairly well-known condition that women suffer after giving birth to a child. While depression once had a stigma attached to it, mothers have spoken out about their own experiences and brought an element of normalcy to the condition that affects nearly 10–15 percent of new mothers.

Now, a small portion of postpartum mommies are also experiencing post–traumatic–stress disorder (PTSD). The PTSD label is commonly used when referring to vets returning from war zones or people recovering from violet occurrences. To see what some contributing factors to PTSD are and what the government is doing about it, read more.

Some believe that traumatic deliveries, premature births, life-threatening issues to the baby, or even past sexual abuse can lead to a woman developing PTSD. Women who seem happy after giving birth may be surprised to develop PTSD months afterwards.

Therapy, medication, talking, and relaxation can all serve as relievers to someone suffering from PTSD. Leaders in the House of Representatives are trying to pass legislation that would offer screening for postpartum mood disorders for new mothers. The proposed law is called the Melanie Blocker Stokes Mothers Act and will be reintroduced in the Fall. The act has its opponents, as some fear such screening would invade a mother's privacy and possibly lead to her being drugged for otherwise treatable issues.

This Golden Globe–winning, Emmy-nominated, Broadway actress is a celeb mom who keeps it real. Jennifer Garner is a superstar in front of the cameras as well as off. The natural beauty was born in Texas, raised in Virginia, and now makes her home in Los Angeles and New York City And this lucky lady gets to share her life with husband, actor Ben Affleck and darling daughter, Violet Anne.

Amidst all the Hollywood pressure to appear like a glam mama, Garner makes it clear that Violet is her number one priority. On weekends she can be found in jeans, running shoes, and T-shirts at the park with her Red Sox lovin' hubby and daughter or going to farmers markets.

Somehow between work and mothering, she also finds the time to be a spokesperson for the Faces of Influenza Campaign and attend movie premieres looking drop-dead gorgeous.

The beaming mom beams about her own mom. She said:

"My mom's most oft-repeated momisms are: 'Happiness is your own responsibility' and 'Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes in the morning.' Both are true."

Motherhood certainly agrees with the starlet. We're proud to have watched her blossom from the awkward piano player on Felicity to the A–list actress and role model she is today.

Caged Fighting For Kids?

Would you let your lil one go head to head in all out combat with another child?

A recent
MSNBC report on cage fighting said that the adult only sport is now catching popularity with a younger set. Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is now legal for children in a few states, but advocates say as a youth sport, it teaches self discipline, is great exercise and allows youngsters to channel their angst. Critics fear that kids may be permanently injured while partaking in the violet sport.

What do you think - is MMA any different from signing your child up for lil league?
