Sculptor Marc Quinn, famous for immortalizing Kate Moss in bronze, births a new exhibit in London on Friday. Entitled "Allanah, Buck, Catman, Chelsea, Michael, Pamela and Thomas," the show examines extreme body transformations.

Bronze, silver, and marble sculptures depict pregnant man Thomas Beatie, Pamela Anderson, Michael Jackson, and Allanah Starr, a transgendered porn actress with a highly feminine figure and male genitalia. According to the White Cube gallery write-up, Quinn is fascinated by "the public's obsession with the body . . . and how this obsession has led some people to alter their bodies in increasingly extreme ways." President-elect Barack Obama has topped Barbara Walters's list of the Most Fascinating People of 2008. The ABC special aired last night, and last year the honor of Most Fascinating Person went to Harry Potter author JK Rowling. While many people probably agree that Obama is the most fascinating figure of the year, it's somewhat surprising that his opponent John McCain did not make the list.

Thomas Beatie, the man who gained fame by giving birth to a baby girl with his wife, Nancy, is expecting again. He told Barbara Walters that this baby is due on June 12, almost a year after his daughter, Susan, was born. Congratulations to the growing family.

Thomas Beatie, who garnered media attention as the "pregnant man," gave birth to a baby girl today! Beatie and his wife, Nancy, have not disclosed the method of delivery. The child is Thomas's first. Nancy has two daughters from a previous relationship. Congratulations to the family!

But, more than the biology of the situation, I've been captivated by the intense reactions people have had to his decision to have a child.

Whether it will be a best–seller remains to be seen, but Thomas Beatie is penning his memoirs in a book titled Love Makes a Family: A Memoir of Hardship, Healing and an Extraordinary Pregnancy.

Pregnant Man Tells His Story to the World

As many of you know, Thomas Beatie, also known as the transgender pregnant man, appeared with his wife, Nancy, on Oprah yesterday to share their story with the world.

For the people who anticipated a freak show, it was anything but as the loving couple chatted with Oprah about their decision to have a baby and to make it public. Adding even more normalcy, Nancy's two daughters from a previous marriage were there supporting their mama and step–dad.

Formerly known as Tracy, Thomas is now a man with his lady reproductive parts still in tact. Like many married folks, he and Nancy wanted to have a biological child. Thomas said it was a dream of his to eventually have a baby so he kept his reproductive organs when he began his gender transition. When the duo wanted to start their family, Thomas was the only one who could bear offspring as Tracy suffered from endometriosis and had her womb removed years ago.

A highly unusual situation, the couple has faced disbelief, disgust and dismay from many people.

The Beaties believe that the most important thing for a baby is to be surrounded by caring and loving parents despite their gender, sexual preferences, race, etc.
