I remember watching Mona Lisa Smile and loving two things: the strong group of females - a cast list that included Julia Roberts, Ginnifer Goodwin, Kirsten Dunst, and Julia Stiles - and the retro styling that captured the traditional '50s woman and the rebel. It's that dichotomy that made both the drama and the fashion of the film compelling. Ashley Olsen kept warm in a furry-lined coat and clutched her bag close during an afternoon walk in the East Village of NYC on Saturday. Vogue named Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen best dressed of 2011, and as one-half of the famously fashionable duo, Ashley was showing off her street style. The sisters take their Elizabeth & James, The Row, and StyleMint lines very seriously and recently also signed on as creative directors to Superga. Still, MK and Ashley have been letting fans see a bit of their silly sides with their monthly StyleMint videos. The Olsen twins tried out planking, owling, and plain old hugging for this month's adorable installment.

I've been going on about how much I love J.Crew's cashmere sweatshirts, and this weekend I discovered you can get the same ones on CrewCuts for a little less! Got the navy - will look so good thrown over floral dresses or with jeans and Supergas. Threw in a vintage-looking brown belt, too, which I plan to wear with tees, jeans and major heels for a little casual/fancy juxtaposition.

I bought the kate spade new york All Occasion Set at Papyrus in Greenwich, CT, which actually has some amazing shopping. It's super cute and perfect for those times when you can't be bothered to run to the stationery shop and need to jot down a quick note. Reminds me of when I was younger and my mom seemed to have cards for any and every occasion.
