The other night, I watched Stop-Loss holding my sleeping son. Without giving anything away, there was a poignant scene when a mother drives her son who has been "stop- lossed" to the border, because his options are to run or return to war. If he crosses, she will never see him again.

A controversial entertainer who certainly had some quirks, Michael Jackson was a superstar who will be sorely missed by millions. Unfortunately for iron man Mike Tyson, the biggest fight of his life may be ahead of him as he deals with the tragic loss of his four-year-old daughter, Exodus. The young girl's life was cut short after a treadmill accident in the family's Arizona home. Our hearts go out to them.

While my 2008 stroller reviews have sparked a discussion about the benefits of full travel systems versus their lightweight siblings, the granddaddy of stroller manufacturers, Maclaren, has thrown a new product into the ring that is sure to have your tongues wagging.
The Maclaren Grand Tour LX, the company's first non-umbrella stroller, was unveiled last week and its features have moms doing a double-take. In addition to the multiple-positioned, forward- or rear-facing seat, removable carry cot, and infant car seat compatibility, the pushchair features front chassis safety lights with a remote control, stain-resistant Nano-Tex fabric available in eight colors, adjustable telescopic handles and an undercarriage basket with a removable shopping bag.

Some things don't become big issues until they hit the home front. While promoting his new movie, Stop-Loss, in which he plays a military man, Sugardaddy Ryan Phillippe told People that even the thought of his own kids (Ava, 8 and Deacon, 4) going off to war or being in harm's way was upsetting.
If they were to enlist, he said:
"I come from a military family and I would support that," he said.
