Barbara Bush, the daughter of former president George W. Bush, is advocating gay marriage in a recent PSA filmed by The Human Rights Campaign. It's a very public way for the 29-year-old to disagree with the ban that her father tried to put in place while in office. But perhaps her political views are more in line with her mother Laura's. The former first lady said she disagreed with her husband's opinions on gay marriage and choice in an interview with Larry King last year.

President Obama held on to his personal BlackBerry for as long as it was possible and it seems he's also a fan of texting. Today, the White House announced its new mobile health service for expectant and new mommies. It said:

Here’s how it works: women who sign up for the service by texting BABY to 511411 (or BEBE for Spanish) receive three free SMS text messages each week timed to their due date or baby’s date of birth. Text4baby messages also connect women to local clinics and support services for prenatal and infant care.

Every president is known for a line or two and this kid's got 'em down pat. From "No new taxes!" to "Four score and seven years ago," Jace could give Will Ferrell a run or his money. One precocious, 11-year-old aspiring journalist made his way to the White House! Prior to the inauguration of President Barack Obama, Damon Weaver, then 10, launched his own campaign asking for an interview with the soon to be commander-in-chief. But the young man wasn't looking for a handout; he has a resume that rivals most professional reporters. He has interviewed Vice President Joe Biden, Caroline Kennedy, and others.

His dream came true recently when he sat down and questioned the president on the future of education, his basketball skills, and improvements to school lunches (suggesting that french fries and mangoes be served daily) and closed the session with by extending an offer to be his "homeboy." Today is Presidents' Day and a prime opportunity to talk to your kids about our nation's history and why some schools, banks, and stores are closed to honor our forefathers. Most youngsters don't need detailed political rants or your take on what George Washington would have said about the credit crisis; here are some politically correct ideas for broaching the subject of former White House residents with your children.

Read a Political Book: The What Presidents Are Made of book ($13) is a good starter for young children interested in history. It focuses on 17 US presidents and includes antidotes that show the human side of our former presidents. For example, George Washington is "made of good deeds." Here are some other reading suggestions for teaching tots about the presidential process.
Make a Patriotic Treat: Celebrate democracy with your lil darlings by making red, white, and blue snacks like an American Flag Cake, Fruit Kabobs or Obama cupcakes.
Dress Up in Your Political Gear: If you purchased or were given political apparel for your child during 2008's campaign, bring it out of the closet today so your tots can show their colors.

Though tomorrow's inaugural balls may call for black ties and heels, your lil one doesn't need to get all decked out to celebrate like the Obamas. Get the party started at home with some festive food, and then tune into the Kids' Inaugural: We Are the Future Concert this evening. The concert, which will be attended by Michelle Obama, Jill Biden, and their families, will honor military families with live performances by Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Demi Levato, and Bow Wow. Usher, Keke Palmer, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Shaquille O'Neal are all scheduled to appear as well.

Be sure your lil partiers have their dancing shoes on by 8 p.m. (EST) tonight, as the concert will be shown on the Disney Channel and simulcast on Radio Disney then.
